Their special teams don't look too much better than last year. First PP unit still looks like they're having trouble getting set up and continues to struggle with pressure. Was hoping they'd have more variety with their zone entries, but it appears the slingshot to Giroux will be utilized on almost every PP.

If Giroux and Voracek don't remember how to score sometime soon, it will be a longggggg year.

Watching replays of the PP goal, I want to throw up. Why does Coots have like 2 min PK this season to PEB having almost 8 min? In no world is he half the PK'er that Coots is. Just (frank)ing use him.

The top PP literally is identical to last year. No changes at all. And it was getting wrecked the last few months because teams knew how to stop it. The hope was they'd tweak it...Mullen keeps his job, has all summer and camp, and does....wait for it.....NOTHING. Are you (frank)ing serious? Mullen hasn't worked in 5 years on the PP I think. He's the Wally from Dilbert of that staff.

The PP2 looks way more dynamic moving the puck.

When I saw the line up changes in the combinations this morning, I thought "why?" Saturday wasn't a game where we were stomped on. We had moments of sloppiness but overall we played a good game. I didn't think Saturday showed any reflection of change. In fact I think Matt Read could thrive on the fourth line in the early going.

Mark Streit might as well have been a ghost on that first goal...or a hologram.

I agree about PP2. It looks good (Mainly because of Konecny and Couturier).

It's still early, so they may be waiting, but it would be pretty bad on the coaching staff if they continue to use the same, predictable methods.

IMO, it's been pretty obvious for a while that PP1 needed some structural and, perhaps, personnel changes.
