exactly.
Plus they would have to take back niemi in any trade with dallas.
And it's not like they couldn't flip a 3rd for Khubodin, or Wardo, or Fkn any average NHL goalie. |

JT Miller+Brady Skjei+Oscar Lindberg for Trouba? - Anthony5967
Everyone please ignore this. NO WAY the rangers trade Skjei and Miller. I doubt they would even consider trading Skjei. I don't think I would trade Skjei for Trouba straight up. they have the same potential but 1 of them wants a huge contract next season... Skjei is the much cheaper option and has just as much upside. |

He has negative trade value - Tumbleweed
Did not know that. I guess at half salary that 3rd rounder may be possible. |

i can assure you it is far too early for Flames goalie rumors.
elliott hasn't had a great start, but as you say, he had misfortune of facing McDavid back to back. Really I'd only count the first game as a truly bad game by elliott. Johnson was played because it was a back to back, first and foremost. He's playing tomorrow again probably, but note also Elliott had a "maintenance day" and was not at practice
At any rate acquiring Bishop, or for that matter any other notable goalie on the block, would require cap space the Flames simply do not have. The Flames would be required to dump salary the other way (Wideman, Bouma, Stajan, or Engelland) in any trade. Given that I'm pretty sure they tried to do that all summer and failed, given how conservative an offseason this was league-wide, I don't see why it would be possible now.
Bishop is going to Dallas midseason is still my guess, with one of the Dallas goalies + other assets going the other way.
Another goalie trade hypothetical I'll just throw out there that seems plausible to me: MAF to Nashville straight up for Rinne. Boom. |

Quoting Steve Simmons on ANYTHING is foolhardy!! |

Never played more than 50 games in a season except once, losing half of them. Not sure where the idea that Elliot is a great goalie comes from. Great goalies are starters and playing behind one of the most defensively sound teams in the league last yr doesn't mean he's great. This yr will tell the tale if he's a true starter. Good yes, great..........book is still out on that one. |

I doubt it will happen but I wonder if the Isles might be in touch with the Kings. Greiss played very well down the stretch and the playoffs for the Isles to the point where many thought the Isles would look to trade Jaro Halak in the off-season. Due to his injury there was speculation the World Cup of Hockey would be a trial. Halak more than proved himself healthy besting some of the best goalies in the world. He is only making a little more than 4M a year and is under contract through next season. If LA is looking for a short-term solution Greiss is signed only until the end of the season at a 1.5M cap hit. The Isles have JF Berube on the roster who can step in as the #2. |

I can believe Marc Andre Fluery being moved - that goal in OT was a wack but weak goal. Murray has already won a cup, is younger, and is the new girl in school.
Ben Bishop will a SOLID addition wherever he goes. No doubt he's not in Tampa in 9 months but don't see Tampa needing to move him yet.
Elliot WILL turn it around. Anderson in T.O.......... I mean your talking about a team where the two best D-men were nothing 2 years ago. 30th place team... the guy could go half a season of playing bad - and he wont |

It's too bad the Kings don't have a capable player who has NHL experience as a starter and is backing up Zakoff. I guess we'll just need to overspend with the no cap space that we current have. |

Ryan Miller is playing for a new contract. He knows this will be his last year in Vancouver no matter what as Markstrom is taking over and they do not need him as a mentor anymore.
He will have an excellent year... as long as they do not change the size of his pads.
I do not know what he is worth going forward but this would be the year to take him, even for one year. |

There's this thing called the salary cap. Not sure if Ek is familiar with it or not. It pretty much guarantees neither Bishop nor Fleury end up in LA. Quick's cap hit is 7 mill....Bishops just shy of 6 and Fleury's is 5.5...
Mason's 4.1 is a bit more friendly. Neuvirth is only 1.6. Both of these guys are UFA's as well. My money is on one of these two, if LA trade for anyone at all. |
