I think he's going to regress a ton in Calgary........I thought signing him was a mistake as soon as it happened.

don't see many teams itching to help out the kings' goalie situation...and frankly any deal the kings make, should be one to shed salary. improving the goalie situation this year will likely cost assets and/or picks in the next draft, neither of which are that appetizing.

lombardi needs to recognize this team simply doesn't have the depth to mortgage more future to make a run. wait it out and see what zatkoff/budaj can do in the interim. and for the love of god, try giving some of the prospects in ontario a real chance to show they can play instead of plugging the lineup with the likes of greene, seto (great story, but holding kids back), etc.

He had Jimmy Howard in Detroit. All other goalies look like Vezina winners compared to him.

I may have exaggerated but I wasn't fond of the signing either.

There's also Jimmy Howard of the Red Wings who has been available. Though his contract might scare bidders off.

Just as Elliott's success came due to a good defense in front of him, same goes for Anderson. The Ducks have a far better defense than Toronto. However, Anderson came up big when the defense faltered. Give the guy a break, its been 2 games. hahaha

He didn't look as bad Sat. But the 1st game was "YIKES" with some softies. I was also frightened with a couple of his angles....but I'm sure he'll be fine.

also have to consider a change of scenery and more defensive system (well, not the first two games, but historically) could help improve pavelec's numbers. i agree, if its a middle round pick, its worth the roll of the dice if quick is out the alleged 3-4 months or more. certainly more cost efficient than someone like bishop or mason/neuvirth, etc.

I can see that cost at full salary. If there is retention then they may have to add a defensive prospect or 2nd round pick. I don't think Winnipeg is in a hurry to dump Pavelec for nothing yet.

Well, one thing wrong is that we never signed him. We traded for him & he has 1 more year left. A 2nd for him was far better than what Pitt wanted for Fleury & the cost of what Tampa wanted for Bishop...ie 6th overall pick.
