Can people breath a little easier with Anderson now?
He played well saturday night.

Sorry, I missed the ceremony...but did they actually retire gilmour's and clark's number?
Why?

For me, to have your number retired by team ,you need to have been an elite player, who was on the team for a while and brought success.
I love both players....but to retire their number? Seems weak.

Bautista needs to shut the hell up though. Umps are the biggest prima donnas in the officiating world and won't be looking to give him the benefit on any 50/50 calls.

Leafs were long overdue in retiring their players jersey. It's a good thing.

But they're retiring something like 17 in one year? That's.... alot?

- Scabeh

it is.
some shouldnt have been retired imo.

They got hits in the first game...except with runners in scoring position.
Bats in the 2nd looked horrible.

He did, and I made sure to announce that, just as we were able to write him off as complete poop after one game, now we can praise him as a legit #1 goalie after one game.

because we are Leafs fans, and that's what we do

Martin has been a dumpster fire at the plate. Pillar not much better.

And on the umping, even ESPN has published that its been a big advantage for Cleveland.

yeah, way to early to anoint him anything.

Two things I’ve been surprised about:
i) his overall size. He’s a huge goalie.
ii) His stickhandling has been impressive.

Yes, I find he plays a little small for his size but he's a pretty good passer for sure.

Yeah. All that the speed starts from the back-end with puck moving dmen and even puck moving goalie.

You can start to see an overall team identity emerging.

Still not totally sold on our D, but love the way Andersen handles the puck.

what I love is these kids are making some highly regarded top end NHL d men look completely silly.

1. Matthews on V. Hedman in the WCH
2. Matthews on Erik Karlsson on his 2nd goal.
3. Marner on Chara ( no goal, but generated a good 2 on 1 chance with JVR after blowing by Chara in the neutral zone).
