Honestly, as teams stand now, I think it's a 2 2 2 thing. For two years, bolts. Next two years, Sabres. Last two years, Laffs.

I hope GMTM will make a few moves to whip the Laffs in year 5 and 6.

Last night was the first time in a while it felt like "wow. This is what my team is gonna look like for a while" The hired guns in O'Reilly and Okposo complementing the drafted talent. It's gonna be exciting for the next 3-5 years with this group, and at the end of that, Eichel will be the "old man" with a new group of youngsters

It was also their 2nd game of a back to back and 3rd and 4 nights. How many stinkers have we seen the Sabres (and others) put up in that situation. He scored 6 points in his first two, and they won them both. As long as he keeps scoring at a decent pace (not that pace, which is almost impossible to maintain), that team will win more games than they lose.

For sure. It's great to see these good players like O'Reilly and Okposo and realize that by the time their contracts end, Eichel will be 25-26 and we'll still have quality years with him.

He's got a great forward corp in place but finding a top pairing D should be priority in the short term. Then tweak along the way.

The Oilers will absolutely be very good with McDavid, Draisaitl and JP, but they need to round out that squad

I'm not one who pays a ton of attention league-wide, but I've liked what the Panthers have been doing and think they could be the "dark horse" type team that has kind of quietly put things together properly - in the sense that they're not as "flashy" as some of the other teams you've listed or loaded with those top end superstars that have made the news recently (McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, Tampa's offensive guys, etc). I think Tallon is one of the smartest GMs in the league and think that'll keep going for a while.
