I didn't really notice that but even the refs have "off games" too.
Bottom line is even if McDavid is kept off the score sheet, when the rest of the team can put 2 in the net, giving up 6 makes that mean sweet (frank) all. Talbot and that wussy Gustaffson gave them no chance to win.

I really didn't expect the Sabres to win this game, but to utter Gorges name in the same sentence with McDavid as being the reason he was shut down tonight is just a joke. Maybe it was just a bad night for the Oil, and maybe the Sabres vets just really came to play, but outside of Gorges running McDavid down with a pickup truck, he can't do anything to stop him and the refs had nothing to do with the loss.

I really didn't expect the Sabres to win this game, but to utter Gorges name in the same sentence with McDavid as being the reason he was shut down tonight is just a joke. Not blaming the refs; I've made it abundantly clear that the Oilers (specifically their goalie) didn't come out ready to play. If you had bothered to read any of my other posts, you'd have seen that. My issue is with how little holding and obstruction is called in general, but what Gorges was doing this game was simply a prime example.

You could sense the spirits within the Oilers players dissipate from them due to that terribly weak goal that went right through Talbot.

You are way too (frank)ing late to this party, kid. And if that goal is enough to dissipate the teams spirits, then they don't deserve to be playing in this league. It's not like the team stopped trying after that. Talbot simply got worse and Lehner shut the door.

As for the monster, don't you know he got concussed and because he is an Oiler that likely means a freak accident that cause cervical vertebrae to shift and put pressure on the spinal cord, thus gone for the season.

It was a solid game by Kassian, but Draisaitl had a strong game too and looked great with Maroon and McDavid in my opinion. I'd keep them together. Hopefully get Jewels back into the lineup to alleviate Leon's responsibility of carrying that 3rd line.

I really didn't like Nuge's game. Mostly soft, ineffective and somewhat lost. Aside from two rushes, I only saw him negatively. Same goes for Pouliot.
