That why it's a Leafs list not an NHL list. But I hate to break it to you, the Leafs have fans all over Canada. I know, it's a shock, perhaps you've heard them during a Canucks game? - LeafMan
Growing up and watching original 6, had me interested in this list. I was a Hawks fan then but you knew all the players from the 6 teams not only because there were so few teams, but also because there was little player movement then.
It was somewhat surprising that Keon was voted top player. He was a nice player but not in the same class as other superstars in his time and after. What made the Leafs a perennial contender in the 60's was team depth. They would call up players from (Rochester?) for the playoffs who were better than many of the other teams' regulars. |

That top 100 is pretty pathetic though guys. Maybe they should have gone with a top 10...one for each decade. Compared to the other original six teams this list embarrassing. Just think about Chicago, Boston, and Detroit in the Sixties and Seventies not to mention modern era teams.
In fairness to management TO fans like blue collar type players more than skilled guys, hence the Tucker love. But a lot of the blame has to fall on Harold Ballard for the mess that has been the Leafs since 1967.
Outside the top ten on that list deserves to be mocked by fans of other teams. It's really bad. |

I can appreciate a humble response like that. Your team is entering a crisis phase for sure. Horvat still on the 4th line? |

It is what it is. Can't revise history. And realistically, a lot of the players deserve recognition regardless of the circumstances that management put them in. |

You're all sheep! Open your eyes! See the truth! Believe everything a man who cries on camera for a living tells you! The banks own Benghazi and they used HAARP to change the male fish to females, thus proving Komarov is better than Kessel. Tin foil everywhere! Oh, the insanity! |

I live and die for the Leafs but I was dreading this list coming out. Most of the good players on it we got in trades and only had them for a short while. Anyway I'm just a cranky old guy who remembers our last cup win.
On the bright side I think we have a couple of guys who will be better than anyone on that list. Cheers |

In the sixties the Leafs were comprised of mainly Marlies and St Mikes players, about half and half.
