Bad asset management playing Bo with 15, but if all goes well the Canucks get the top pick and fire the coach. This team needs a number 1 centre to take over for Hank so I say tank, or should I say just let coach D do his thing. The Dorsetts, Sbisa, Burrows, Grunlands totally suck but to get better they know they have to play these guys. I am not sure what you are expecting, it's kind of like Trump, the guy is a frickin idiot, and the Canucks are a transitional team who have no business trying to be something they are not.

Page after page of people stressing about Horvat being used as a 4rth liner 0 games into the season. This thread reads like we are at least 10 games into the season... Not a single person on here aknowledged that WD said he was planning on using Horvat 16-18 minutes a game and match him up against some of the best players in the game. Obviously he has many plans for Horvat. He's going to be on the 2nd PP unit, PK and going to be taking a lot of defensive zone face offs as well. Sounds like he's going to be depended on in multiple roles... Why so single minded people?

Management and coaches made it clear that they put Bo in a position last year where he couldnt focus on the most important part of the game, defense. The stats show it. Looks like they want to work on that. I'm sure he can be swapped with Sutter to get in the top six if it looks like it's needed. That will be something people should be at least willing to wait and see before being so judgemental over speculation. They have been clear that Sutter was brought in for the 2nd line from the very beginning.... why so suprised they are going to try that right away since they never got a chance to settle him in at that role last season...

Vantel shares an honest opinion on the reflection of performances during the pre season. I agree with him.

Nice to see you back dude and you make fair and excellent points to be sure.

I'm still not sure about Burying Horvat on the 4th line to start the year is the right way to go regardless of Granlund outplaying him a bit in preseason.

I get the fact that WD might be trying to light a fire under him here and it probably is only a matter of time before he is back in the top 9, but mentally IMO this is not good for Horvat. Horvat needs discipline defensively…I get it. But shoved into a 2LC shutdown role vs the leagues best last year he still managed 40 points and we still can see the upside. Granlund has 102 NHL games under his belt for a grand total of 31 pts.

I get the fact that Sutter was brought in for the 2 LC and have no issue with that. He is still better than Horvat defensively and is a slightly better skater but lacks Horvats body mass. So it will be interesting to see how it all plays out but IMO based on last year and preseason I still think Horvat has earned no less than 3LC minutes and start.

If Granlund beats out Horvat for the 3LC spot after say….10-15 games or so then so be it. But even with a good preseason to me Granlund hasn't moved ahead of Horvat on the depth chart even though he may be a little more defensively responsible. Horvat's defense and 200' will come around. Limiting Horvat to 4th line minutes at this stage well to me, is not good for his development.

I've backed WD since Day 1 here and still do for the most part and want to see him bring this club back to respectability this season…but IMO this is not a good coaching decision and has the ability to bite him in the ass big time.

Don't get me wrong I want to see Granlund succeed but he needs to prove in regular season that he can move up the depth chart…and not be based on a couple of good preseason games.

Our coach is letting Sutter and Granlund build long term chemistry with their new line mates. Bo's linemates Boeser and Landeskog only get here next year

Willie D loves him some Dorsett, he's a 18-20 minute a night guy as long as Desjardins is coaching the Nucks

Structure, or lack of, same thing that plagued the Canucks last year, and look who their coach is....ex-Canuck coach.

They just need to stop acquiring players that coach and management are "comfortable" with.

It's ironic how they disappear after a couple of losses.
