Holding back how...?
ANd Vantel by agreeing sounds contrary to your earlier posts on how to build a team etc or at least plan for it....

AND. Remember if plan fails you get a lotto pick ... win win

I don't want to say anything negative about the twins . That era is over for me.

Welcome Back Grizzly Adams , hope you had a good summer of fishing?
- VANTEL

It has been one hell of a run. Closed out the trophy stillwater trout fishing in early July and moved onto dry flies on the Chilko River(filmed Grizzlies in camp). Tied up some loose ends and did 3 back to back 2 week trips with my camper/jet boat on the Skeena. Late Aug was insane. I'd get a 30 salmon/steelhead day every 4 or 5 days on my Spey rod... in early Sept I was dry fly fishing for Steelhead on the Bulkley and hooked up for the first time on the surface. Tht was my highlight of the season even though he broke the hook after 10 minutes. I have one more 10 day trip planned up to the Copper River... Thanks for asking

If there's one constant in every modern day championship team, it's a couple of high draft picks. Of course it takes much more than that, but that what stirs the drink.
-Leftcoast

Oh by the way Canucks already have a collection of top 10 draft picks ... maybe not all their own but none the less they got them

Burrows Sedins Luongo Kesler Hamhuis era is coming to an end. It is time for Bo Boeser Demko Hutton JV Tanev and others.

Follow your first intuition .

I look at our line up and my first thought is this team is not bad. It is you (frank)ers and the media that make me second guess

It's over those players are gone.... Burr soon too... but the Sedins may play an adjusted role for the Canucks in a supporting style maybe as bottom 6 if and again they can and are needed maybe for that Cup retiring run ... who knows .... hope or speculation being constants lol.

The new kids coming up and here now have an identity to forge and they aren't labeled can't miss super stars but they can mesh as a team and that's where the Sedins could play a role too

Not bad .... sure... good enough... who knows ... but sure the glass is not half empty...
What it is full of ... well...remains to be seen...
Are we all looking forward to the ride ...? Well it will be bumpy but as long as it is not a plan to fail.. a la the tank... fans will stay engaged. Cause if the team sucks purposefully sorry but who's going to stay to follow it ...?!?

This roster has it's work cut out for it and it seems most of the players will be here on that drive to success.

Hard to believe the cup run was only 5 years ago

media always has that "sky is falling" outlook. Here seems to be even worse.

Myself Im pretty content with the team. D core looks good. Our weak areas are in toughness at forward still and behind the bench.

Welcome back, WTF did the fishing dry up?

I'm sure you remember that the slightest deviation from armchair coaches/GM's game plans will create hysteria like there's no tomorrow. It just seems to be happening earlier and more often.

Glad to see you post, was wondering how you've been.

- Makita

Fishing didnt dry up... quite the opposite. The rivers kept blowing out and I ran out of time. Hockey is here. I'd be posting regardless of where I am.

Great to hear your fishing adventures went well, and I'm glad to see that you will be posting more, although I fear some posters may get hurt feelings..

Now we just need Zogg back in the fold.

This working only 5 days week is odd and only 8 hour shifts no less. It feels amazing to have free time.

I knew it when Calgary signed Elliott that it was a bad signing. Looks like we are getting Johnson tonight. Anyone know why we are starting our backup for the first game of the year?

I don't think Elliott is the whole problem. How many break aways has Calgary given up? Calgary's D was good for a season, now they seem to be failing apart.
