Talking about getting excited after one game the oil have like 1200 postings and Flames like a hundred. At least our team still a day away from season opener we are still talking well kind of wondering what should happen with opening night roster.

I understand with your disability by being a Flames fan that it's hard to follow a thread Or keep thoughts in order.

But YOU were laughing at Dallas sucking by getting tied by Winepwg at the time. Also the thread on that had mentioned Dan Hamius contributing too. But hey you miss the point every time cause you got freezer burn in the brain. Sorry shouldn't make light of your disability it's not your fault.

Is that why despite a lights out performance never to be seen again by savior Mathews the Leaf's still lose to the Sens

Looks like The Sky isn't falling in Vancouver ... it isn't blue either cause of the rain. But the Canucks will bring it this year barring injuries they will compete

Auston Matthews retires as greatest Leaf in franchise history

OTTAWA – Immediately after the game in which he became the first player in NHL history to score 4 goals in an NHL debut, Auston Matthews announced his retirement. Experts and pundits unanimously agree that he will go down as the greatest player in the Toronto Maple Leafs 100 year history.

“I’ve had a pretty good run,” said Matthews in his postgame press conference, “and I’ve accomplished all I set out to accomplish in my career. There’s really nothing left for me to do.” When asked why he is choosing not to pursue a Stanley Cup, let alone a regular season win, Matthews replied, “I don’t think I need to anymore. This was so much sweeter. Nothing can top this.”

Matthews, who dazzled in the first and last game of his NHL career, retires as the franchise leader in points and goals scored on October 12th, 2016 in a game against the Ottawa Senators. Throughout his career, Matthews averaged 4 goals a game, more than Gretzky, Lemieux, and Ovechkin combined.

At press time, the Leafs announced Matthews’ jersey retiring ceremony, as well as the unveiling of his statue on the prestigious “Legends Row”, will take place this Saturday, when the Leafs face the Bruins on Hockey Night in Canada.

Wow! Quite the high scoring games so far...they switch the goalie equipment already without me knowing? Pastrnak 2g 2a +6 8sog. Great fantasy game if you got 'em. What's happened to Bobrovsky? Torts will be gone first.

So just a thought but do the Canucks try to play it rough with the Flames on Saturday? Given their war with battle of Alberta this week will take its toll maybe that's what WD wants? So do they play Skille too...? Or is this why WD is playing Horvat on the fourth to take the body more..? Gaunce with Suter too? Don't know just trying to make sense of his tinkering.... with the lines.

No but it may be a case of rusty goalies and defensive systems getting picked apart with high tempo play and charged up WC players with revved up timing.

Everyone thinks playing the Canucks this season will be like shooting fish in a barrel. Maybe they're right. When it comes to criticism it seems like when it rains it pours. But the critics probably shouldn't count their chickens before they hatch - they aren't even on page one of their season and you can't judge a book by its cover. If the Canucks work like dogs and take the bull by the horns they just might find some success in this dog eat dog league. Who knows how the cookie will crumble.

With all the injuries happening to players who were playing on the NHL Who-We-Deem-Worthy-Plus-Two-All-Star-Teams-Of-Youth-And-Euro-Leftovers Cup, it's not a stretch to say that it's possible the Canucks could get off to a very good start.
