What the (frank) is wrong with Jack Eichel? He has a sprained ankle right?
Saw the video of him rolling around on the ice like he ws shot and then at Buffalo's opening ceremony he was riding a scooter.
I don't like him. (frank)ing baby. - bloatedmosquito

Yeah he's cute and all, but he's overly cautious, and his tail always falls off. Don't want belcher getting into a funk like Eeyore. - Makita
After I got married my tail fell off drastically. |

Here is my take on Bo on the fourth line. My theory is he has been outplayed by Granlund Sutter and Gaunce in the preseason. I didn't have to dig too deep for that answer , the others have looked better and tried harder so far this season.
It will change but for now the others have been better.
For the asset management bunch
Forsling out Stecher in
Etem out Rodin in
Shink out Granlund in
2 nd round pick out Baertschi in
Hamhuis and McCann out Hutton and Gudbrandson in.
I really don't have a problem with any of the moves - VANTEL
Agree
But for Hamuis Canucks replaced with Gudbranson. And Guannce is more like replacement for Mcann. Which may not be better offensively but more suited for role and versatility in line up. Though I'd say Guance will get as many points if not more then Mcann did last year and have a better plus minus plus add grit and hits |

hate to disappoint but he will be here all season .... he is coaching the worst team in the league after all ... why make a coaching change? - the end
because he is at the center of our problems thats why. I saw this 2 off seasons ago and have wanted him and lidster gone since. |

If Horvat is truly starting the season on the 4th line after the success he has showed with Baertchi, there will be no sympathy for WD when the time comes. Granlund did have a good preseason yes...but not enough to displace Horvat. I've backed WD in the past...but this is for sure a head scratcher. - LordHumungous
since its just a practice it means nothing. Coach could be messin around looking for sparks.
But I do believe Linden has a long leash for willie, his buddy. Linden is a very gracious person so thats why Ive said before that he'd allow willie to step down instead of being canned.
But mid season? Not so sure there. I'd expect Linden to want to take his time in a coaching search. No so sure he'd disrupt utica mid season either. If there's a sudden change expect Jarvis as in term coach. |

Why being new to posting here makes me a troll? Plus what do you find "trollish" about any of my posts....? For the record I have been a Canucks fan/supporter for decades no matter where I live or travel. Hockey fan second.
That said given where the roster is at now we seem to be all wondering what WD is doing with lines again? Biggest question marks are what type of system this team is going to play and how are they going to deploy the lines?
WD has created a defensive loaded bottom two and offensive top 6 in practice lines. But fans want to see more offense so wouldn't balancing the lines out for this make more sense or be more palatable to look at...?
Wouldnt this be better now:
twins with LE
Horvat centering Baer and Hanson
Sutter centering Granlund and JV
Gaunce centering Burr and Skille
But we all know how much WD loves DD no matter what he does ... and that's the biggest problem this line up has...not Sbisa....but WD's love of DD! He brings nothing we need anymore. So can Linden push JB too trade him or send him down when Rodin can play...? Wishful thinking
- Nuck4U
We are always suspicious of new accounts being made, you have some good points, but again as we are suspicious of all new comers it is hard to tell if sarcastic or not. |

I agree, since coach's seem to like pairs i see them as the following:
Sedin/Sedin -
Baer/Bo -
Granlund/Sutter -
Dorsett/Gaunce
Loui, JV/Rodin, Hansen, Burrows can hopefully shift around depending on need or chemistry. - dbot
Yeah this is good just with DD out and Burr in with Hanson on fourth if Rodin back to play with Bo and JV with Sutter more often... change up though depending on match ups etc |

I know your team got its ass kicked last night , but it might be a little early to jump ship ( unless you are an alt acct of Nucker, then we understand). - VANTEL
Not Jumping ship. I have this till Nov I think.
Anyways, is your first game against the Flames on Sat?
Good for you guys as Flames play the night before, bad for you guys as the Flames will already have played a couple games.
Could go either way. |

I sure like the looks of the Habs. They are going far. |

I expect Flames to be 0-3 by Sunday. Canucks come out with something to prove and you guys play the night before. |

I just can't figure out why management and coaching staff can't put young players in a position to succeed? Last year they were forced to throw Horvat to the wolves and expose him a bit as their second line center, so he learned and started to succeed near the end of the year....not unlike what the Jets did with Ehlers or the Blues did with Fabbri.
So what does Desjardins do now, sticks Horvat on the 4th line with two plugs while the Jets have Ehlers with Scheifele and Wheeler on their first line and Fabbri is in the Blues top six to start the year.
I'm sorry I'm venting but it's like the guy is trying to get fired - LeftCoaster
I said the same thing late last season. Every game he'd make a dumb move that cost us the game.
He'd use Miller in games against teams that miller had a losing record against. Miller was losing every game he played at that time and markstrom was winning almost every game yet miller started 80% or so of games. Media was calling him out on it even.

So who gets a free pass from the coach during pre-season? We know that Edler does. The twins probably. Do you think Burrows and Hansen get free passes. Hard to say.
Double standards are a super cool way to unite a locker room. - bloatedmosquito
Edler was great in preseason....pick your battles. WD does plenty of bizarre things but this quote is extremely logical. |

The center of our problems was an aging roster without prospects. Coaching is likely a distant fifth on our list of problems |
