Oddly I like listening to the vancouver news "the early edition" in the mornings. Heard today that the average housing price this year so far was 890,000 or close to that. Ridiculous. Kind of crazy considering in Manitoba you could get a 4000 sq ft house for that much.

Really Etem was going to solve all the problems for this team because he scored 4 goals in the last 5 games of the year when no one cared anymore. Etem was a poor man's Chris Stewart and he even has trouble finding an NHL job most of the time.

What are you referring to when you say "house?" You can't buy a 2 bedroom condo for $890,000 let alone a house. A tear down costs $1,500,000.

The teams issues run much much deeper than Etem or any other bum, like Corrado, that they've lost in recent years. The local media pokes at it because it's the hot topic, but it's only really a surface issue, the real problems lie much deep in the lack of a long term vision for the club from ownership and management.

As I've said before, give Benning five years and see what he comes up with through the draft. Until then, the team I see somewhat competitive, barring injury, they'll probably be a 10 to 16 team in terms of draft position next June.

Any theories on who our backup goaltender could be next year once Miller is gone? I can't imagine Demko will be ready, so we would need to find a vet willing to sign for not very much?

I really don't understand what's wrong with the team. Teams have been drafting lower then Van for years and are still drafting lower then Van. Hopefully Van will continue to draft good players and if the time comes that they are bad enough to get a top 3 pick that, that player will have players to play with.

While I agree to some extent and feel miller isnt the better goalie he does at least have good games and good streaks. Otherwise yes hes not a starter anymore.

If preseason is a small indication van had only 1 preseason game that the score was separated by more then 2 goals.

There will be a lot of options next season, like both PHI goalies are FA after the season, Griess, or Chad Johnson. But I imagine, given the trend of management, they go after Pavelec or Bernier to tandem with Markstrom
