I don't know if I would say overrated. More like higher expectations. Counting on the manager to pick the correct players that will get the team winning . Have to admit the injuries are real . We are missing a big chunk of this teams talent because of it. If the team was 100% healthy and played like crap, then I would be concerned. We just have to wait it out. Complaining isn't gonna change things.

If nothing else maybe the losses early on will show Murray that some of the guys he thought could step up actually can't and thus not worth the amount of cap they take up...

I really dont know who is giving pegula his info. Why give murray and extension now? In my opinion, murray made some good decisions,but alot of bad decisions. We have alot of non nhlers on that roster.
Franson,nelson,gorges,deslauriers,grant,gionta,moulson,nilsson,larsson ,foligno(borderline)and some that arent nearly as good as murray thought. Lehner,kane,bogosian

You know ... I don't know if it is the Sabres or just the overall quality of play in the NHL these days... The games, even the ones the Sabres happen to win, are just boring as hell... This game was meant to provide entertainment and scoring..... It provides neither anymore....

They really need an overhaul there and its not just looking for a high end guy. The middle guys with the exception of McCabe are just doing nothing for this team.

Franson - Depth Dman, 1 year left. Has lost all value since Toronto.
Nelson - Still an NHL prospect best served in Rochester.
Gorges - Brought in to lead this team out of the darkness. Playing with Risto is WAY above his level and everyone knows it.
Deslauriers - Perfectly fine checking line forward.
Grant - Cheapo free agent signing, quality depth player.
Gionta - See Gorges, fine for 3rd line.
Moulson - Regressed more than expected, bad contract here. I'll give you this one.
Nilsson - Perfectly capable backup goalie (small sample size in preseason)
Larsson/Foligno - Great checking line players, don't put them in top 6 and you're fine. They were our most consistent line in the 2nd half of last year.
Lehner - Probably be fine if we actually had a defense.
Kane - Risky, but fine.
Bogo - Risky due to being prone to injury, but a quality 2nd line D.

I think its the team. This team was slow ish on paper to begin with. Now its lost two of its best skaters and has like 3 or 4 of the worst skaters in the league.

When you have this many injuries, you're going to start seeing players playing above their pay grade. It's the name of the game. When the team is healthy, there's hope. The D could certainly improve.

We didnt have the currency,because we traded alot of it for and often injured bogosian who has never lived up to his lofty expectations . And traded for kane who was a cancer in the winnipeg locker room, who has far exceeded that in buffalo. When you are a gm, you cant miss on that trade. When kane is renting lamborghinis and crashing them with your future star, murray this is on you
