Where dreams were crushed.

Can't tell who tripped him, but if it's Risto, that will be some sort of funny.

Risto "YAY! New Contract! first time I get to practice with the team..... oops "

Breaking: Loud scream by Jack Eichel as he goes down. Unable to put weight on left leg. Helped to room.

so whats the problem then?

Schenns is similar - example

Brandon head coach and GM Kelly McCrimmon
"Brayden is a very complete player. He is a leader, strong physically, competitive, with a very high skill level. He has great vision, and a great release on passes and shots."

Good point. I just mean that I think Patrick numbers wise at his age has had a more impressive junior career, and based on that (uneducated as this guess is), I think he's a little more clear cut as a top line centre. Maybe not franchise, but top line.

Didn't Patrick finish 5th in WHL scoring as a 16 year old? Didn't he follow up with a pretty dominant 20 game playoff?
- mykokes

If he was a 16 year old how would he be getting drafted as a 17 year old?

17 year old, but yes he did. However he's "struggling" this year with most of the teams depth and vets gone.
- AdamFrench

Well, a 48 goal and 108 point pace isn't really struggling Frenchie.

for most cases of guys in his age group last year would've been his 16 yo season.
But because he's a late birthday, you are correct, he was 17 to start it, much the same way he is 18 to start this one. I don't want to get too far into it, but Brayden Schenn and Sam Gagner were actually 17 yo the day of their drafts.

It is when you consider Reinhart, Draisaitl, RNH et all of the WHL star "fowards" were outpacing him in their draft year vs his. Also that he is being outscored by a midget

THey say that every year at this time, then steam picks up around the World juniors. It's not as great at the top as the last two, that's as far as I'll go, but the draft itself as a whole is probably decent.

I thought they had to be 18 by a certain date before they could be drafted.
