When was the last time an NHL player has "unsuccessful surgery?" Even when Forsberg's ankle was twisted like a pretzel, all his procedures were considered "successful." When was the last time that a player had a procedure done and the doctors (frank)ed up?
- jmatchett383

Just a doctor/sports term that no hiccups ensued during surgery. Surgery went as planned. Even when there is unsuccessful surgery it is never labeled as such. They just say their were complications or a setback.

I can't answer that. In my opinion, he should've never been sent down. He's certainly better than Manning, Medvedev, and arguably Schultz. Hextall had signed Medvedev and wanted to give Manning a shot. That was decided before training camp in my opinion.
- MJL

I think if there is any part of this entire AMac discussion that is certain, it is that Hextall will not guarantee a roster spot

Anyway...keep supporting him all you want. I think he sucks, but I will gladly watch him not suck if he is capable. We will see

In most cases yes, but in some not. He guaranteed Manning a roster spot last season. To be fair about my previous comments, adding Medvedev is hindsight. I was excited about Medvedev watching him in the pre season last year. In reality, Medvedev, although capable of an occasional strong game, was not an NHL defenseman. Far to inconsistent and poor away from the puck. Stating that MacDonald sucks is hyperbole, but you can keep labeling him as such, all you want. We will see. As I said previously. Pre season is pre season. The real games start soon.

I am also capable of putting on ice skates and skating with equipment and a stick for 20 minutes a night. That doesn't mean I've good at it.

I'm not saying that you're necessarily wrong, simply that playing on the 2nd pair doesn't mean that you are necessarily a good option to be doing so.

- jmatchett383

One might not be a good option while at the same time may simply be the best available option.

the blackout restrictions are annoying, especially for a team that is on national tv as much as the flyers. I thought center ice had the same restrictions, but I've got no clue. I just know gamecenter was awesome when I didnt live in the philly market. It is pointless in a local market
- YuenglingJagr

Were you a real Flyers fan, as I am, you'd move out of market so you could watch all games.

maybe I moved to a market where I can watch them on local TV and where I can watch their prospects compete for a Calder Cup in person?

IMO This is what the Flyers look like Healthy

Schenn-Giroux-Simmonds
Konecny-Coots-Voracek
Raffl-Cousins-Weise
PEB-Gordon-Read
Laughton

AMac-Ghost
MDZ-Provorov
Gudas-Streit
Shultz

Demoted: VDV, Lub and Manning
Trade block: Read, Streit and Shultz

Among other things, I really like that 3rd line. Size on the wings, strong two-way play. Doesn't seem like it was just thrown together with players that couldn't crack the top six.

I cancelled my Gamecentre because of the stupid blackout restrictions. I would miss games because a local channel would be broadcasting in another region. So it didnt matter if it was on TV in my area. Example CBC Montreal played the Flyers VS Montreal game. I live in the Toronto region so a Toronto game was on instead, I dont get access to CBC Montreal because I am not in that area yet is was blacked out for me anyways. F that.
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

Yeah gamecenter is a scam - especially for someone that lives in the NYC area - with no live TV in my apartment. All Flyers games vs. the Devils, Rangers & Islanders are blacked out for me not including the nationally televised ones.

When AMac moved out, they gave us all free AppleTVs so we can watch our favorite player continue his illustrious career

Remember when Leclair had back surgery - which was successful but he got a really bad Staph infection - which I feel like you've got to blame the surgeons for. Ended keeping him off the ice for a much longer time.

Semi-serious question:

In the 90s, the Flyers were in the Lindros era.
After the Lindros trade until the lockout, they didn't have an era.
After the lockout, we had the Forsberg era for a year and a half.
After that, we have the Richards era.
Since the Richards trade, we haven't, again, really have any era.
What player do you think will have the next era in Flyers hockey? Are we beginning the Ghost or Provorov era?

Speaking from experience, the most severe pain for a high ankle sprain is in the area just below the knee. Because that is normally where the sprained ligament sustained the damage. The ligament itself runs along the shin bone from below the knee to the ankle itself.

Serious question - how do you watch the games, and how many do you watch?
- Scoob

I've seen every single televised or streamed preseason game and listened to the radio on the one that wasn't. Is this supposed to be some sort of dig at me...I don't know what you're getting at.

Also, Eichel has T-Rex arms, so he can't reach all the way down to his ankle.
