I don't know if the Leafs are gonna get in the playoffs this year but Matthews, Marner and Nylander...they're gonna be fun to watch. I was hoping Kapanen would make the team this year. Doesn't hurt that JvR and Kadri are stil young too.

Fwiw he looked much better all over the ice than the other American Golden Child, Eichel. I think Buffalo just should've tanked another year tbh.

Lots of good points made here. Personally, I support MacDonald and think he is a better play than given credit for, but he's not as good as Matt Carle was, and I know that you're not saying that he is. I wish he was, but he's not. He doesn't have the offensive game that Carle had when he was here.

Definitely not anywhere near Matt Carle at his peak. I just meant they're similar in being all-around D-men in terms of skating, passing, agility without really being dominant in any one skill area. Neither one particularly physical, both inclined toward backing in too easily and making some bad turnovers. Matt Carle most certainly played at a higher level when he was a Flyer.
