Watched Kevin James new show Kevin Can Wait the other night and the Isles are mentioned in the episode. He actually talks about going to the Islanders game and he is decked out head to toe in Islander gear. It was pretty weird and cool to see them mentioned on a prime time show. I get the show is based on him living on the island but still pretty cool to see |

I read somewhere that they might try to buyout his last year. Whether that actually happens who knows |

I don't know why everyone is completely offended by the 3 goalie thing. I can't believe I am actually defending Snow here, but just because other teams don't typically do it, doesn't mean its a bad idea. Halak has an injury history. He's been banged up a lot in recent years. Greiss seems capable of being a #1, but lets see him do it for more than a half season before we say that.
If Berube is legit and can be a goalie of the future here, why put him on waivers? You know a team will snatch him up. I'd rather carry 3 then lose a good goaltender for nothing, especially when Greiss is a UFA next summer and Halak only has 1 yr left on his deal.
Besides, having three goaltenders does not preclude the team from moving one for an asset during the season instead of losing Berube for nothing on waivers. - Jethro09
The goalies certainly don't like it. Ask 20 of them around the league if they'd like to be in that situation and you'd probably get 20 similar answers. More than almost any other position in any other sport, other than maybe pitchers in baseball, goalies seem like the kind of people whose routines you don't want to introduce a lot of chaos to. |

True but it worked out for them last year and that's all that matters |

I was going to watch that Kevin James show but then I decided I'd rather drag a kid around my enclosure and get myself killed in front of a crowd.

I want to steal your cousins stuff.
My entire extended family lives in Rockville Centre. Time to go bar hopping with my younger cousins, in search of this shot glass. |

Jack Capuano did not indicate it is certain that those three will be together for the season opener against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden Thursday night. - Harambe
At the end of the day, we’ve always been a four-line team, not a top six team.....I know he means 4 lines not two lines but he's also correct in that they are not a top 6 team |

I don't think anyone thinks they are in the top-6 best teams in the league. |

I was just like to know what other NHL team has the three goalie monster. I would like to know why other teams would not even think about it?
- kasperrko
Same reason that some teams out there choose to not have a 1st line or a top defense pairing or a competitive team. Because they can't. If the other 29 teams out there have it all figured out then where were 14 of them last Spring? On the golf course making fun of the Islanders and their 3 goalies? Only 4 GM's got their teams further than Garth did last year. Recognize. |

At this point, I'll watch and see how the first couple months play out. If the kids prove they belong, that's fantastic. If the team flounders out of the gate, if ledecky was serious, we'll see a new staff. Win/win. I don't like carrying 3 goalies, or sending pulock down initially, or chimera on the top line, but if this doesn't lead to a good start then it'll come down to the new owners backing up their words.
I'm still curious how the teams over the cap got under it, haven't paid much attention to it on vacation. |

I don't think anyone was really over the cap. Maybe the Hawks, but they got rid of that problem by trading Bickell and Teravainen to CAR. |
