No way should PAP be on the top line or top 6. I could have lived with PAP as an extra forward. I thought Quine and Prince both showed some good things last year. I'm not saying top 6 things, but enough to keep them over PAP if that is the thinking. I'm not going to get upset about losing PAP. The fact is the Isles should have enough pieces to move for a quality winger for JT. - ses111
Pretty amazing eh. Look at what Yzermans doing over there in Tampa. |

It seems to be.
With guys like Nelson,Strome, De haan to name a few along with the prospects you would think something can get done? I'm not even looking for a Hall type player. |

IT is and GArth Snow even said it himself at one time. Just that you have to give up something to get something. I think Garth is scared to pull the trigger and well if this team falls flat well at least he will be gone along with the coach |

When is the last time a guy was an extra skater before a regular season game and was actually in the lineup two night later and not because of an injury? You really think They are going to sit Strome, Bailey or any other forward on the team for him? - Vukota
I have no idea what they're going to do. Maybe Barzal sits for a game and then plays the next 81...who knows. The world isn't going to start and end with Thursday's game against the Rangers. Roles change, players get hurt, players game's go to hell, etc... It's not like Barzal has a dire need to get back to juniors to coast around the league dominating.
Now if they kept him around all season to be an extra forward that would be one thing, but I would imagine he'd get sent back to junior if that were going to be the case. |

The whole point of prospects is you are not going to use all of them so you trade some to help the current team. Isles should be at that point. |

Point is not really about Barzal. Kid is going to be a stud. It's more about the way they do things and the fact that most times you just shake your head. Like the fact that Pulock is not on the opening night roster Facking seriously??? |

It's most definitely a possibility, but you're making guarantees about guys who have never played 1 NHL game.
Nobody thought Dylan Larkin was going to stick past 9 games last year either. 80 games and 45pts later, he had himself a pretty damn good rookie season. |

People need to relax.....they havent even played a game, and its this scenario vs that scenario. Lets see how it plays out. We know this.....if things arent working changes will be made, either by calling someone up or a trade. Its a LONG season. |

Yes agreed but Barzal will not get that treatment here at all. IT looks like he is destined to sit and watch and then after 9 games back to juniors with ya and we will talk to you next year |

Your right, the point definitely isn't about Barzal. Going back to the origin of all this, my point is that too many of the kids outplayed PAP and he got cut because of it. That's not to say he was cut for any one of Barzal/Beauvillier/Quine/Prince/etc..., but enough guys showed that they could hang at this level to justify getting rid of PAP.
I firmly believe the reason they cut PAP was because they knew he wouldn't clear waivers. Had they waived Kulemin, Bailey, etc... not a team in the world would have touched them with those cap hits and contract term. It gave them a little bit of extra cap space and got rid of a contract. Two birds, one stone. |

I mean, Barzal (and Beauvillier) is (are) the youngest player(s) to make the team since Tavares (I think). So they're already stepping outside of their customary roster moves at the beginning of the year. I don't think it's out of the question to see them insert him into the lineup at some point and for him to run with it and not give them a choice. |
