I think someone said earlier that Snow will be speaking later, so hopefully there will be some clarification.

Also, not the first time they kept a kid around as an extra without playing him, instead of sending him back to juniors. /cue "requisite number of meetings" jokes

I didn't say anyone would like what he said or understand why he does what he does

I still don't understand cutting Pap over Quine or Prince. He might not be the best player in the world but he was good for 20 goals. Can you say the same about Quine or Prince?

Really? It's based on a true story about Chicago Bears player Brian Piccolo who dies from cancer. Facking brutal to watch. James Caan plays the dying player

Likely not. Not sure what the thought process is to be honest.

Typical Islanders but I am sure there is good reason for all these stupid moves. Barzal should be playing hands down if they have him up here.

The three goalie thing is just ridiculous and sending Pulock down is also very dumb. But I forgot this is GArth Snow

If either of them were playing with JT, then yea...probably.

I don't necessarily think that he was cut to save Prince or Quine's job. I think those guys were penciled in anyway. I think he was cut to give Barzal and Beauvillier a shot. Barzal may have been (somewhat) expected but I think Beauvillier didn't really give them a reason to cut him, other than his age. That kinda forced Snow's hand.

I'll see if I can find it. The only roles I can remember seeing Caan in was Misery and Elf.

We get that a lot. When it starts making sense you should be very worried and probably seek medical immediate attention.

Oh come on, let's not pretend like PA Parenteau was going to be the guy that put this team over the top. Half the schleps in the league would play well on Tavares' wing.

Well the first line needed speed so lets put snow's other FA signing who has speed but cement hands on jT's wing, You can't make this shat up
Put brazil on JT's wing, give the kid a shot for Christ's sake.

You would take Quine over PAP? It's not about PAP being great, its about him being better than others on the team.

The thing is Quine had a decent playoff and the way the Islanders think that is enough proof that he should stay with the team.

This is what kills me with this team. They go by things of the past

Quine is the 13th forward. Nobody was claiming him. Should have kept PAP as a healthy scratch until the kids could prove one way or another. With so many questions on where the scoring will come just doesn't make any sense to cut the one guy out of the 3 mentioned that will actually score on a consistent basis and when I say consistent at least 20 goals for the year. Facking Alan Quine?????

Quine Prince Kulemin Bailey Strome all of these guys should not be here right now.
To me they are place holders. Bailey has proved nothing Strome has proved nothing Prince I will give a pass to and Quine but you are supposed to get rid of the trash so that the team can grow and the Islanders never do that

In some ways. I'm no fan of Prince or Quine but at least they were defensively sound for the most part. I am holding out hope that there's a bugger plan here even though I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment. Also, I'm in no way defending keeping prince or Quine over anyone

Well first of all, this isn't a PAP vs. Alan Quine debate. PAP was not cut so Alan Quine could make the team.

That said, I don't think the difference in talent is great enough for this to be something to get upset about. Quine is younger, cheaper and was a consistent scorer in the AHL. He filled in nicely when needed in the playoffs.

It's pretty clear that PAP was cut because of a logjam at forward caused by a couple young kids proving that they're really good.
