I don't think so... but would need to go through waivers again.

I'm quite sure a guy picked up on waivers can't be traded until after trade deadline (so only can be traded pre-draft).

- MaximusAurelius

He can be traded, but the other teams that put in a bid for him are given a chance to claim him first.

Scouting on him is that he has a great shot, but can't skate at the NHL level, is small, and can't do anything else when he's out there.

AHL All-Star for life. No thanks. Would rather keep Leivo.

- gravyface

And yet he scores enough and gets his shot off well. Might not be as big of a problem as some think.

Also, skating can be improved.

yeah you're right.. makes sense he would need to clear waivers first before being able to be dealt.

Pass on Pullkinen (sp)

We have several guys in the system that are likely as good as he is. Why bother?

And grass is greener syndrome.

Pullkinen 11 goals 70 games.

Leivo 7 goals 28 games.

Leivo sucks! Get the other guy!

Why would that matter?

A free player. Maybe you can trade someone for a pick if he is equal to or better option than someone else

yeah that's exactly what i meant
it will come down to character of these guys; apart from the numbers, advanced stats etc, some guys are more liked by management team because of their attitude, working ethic etc. etc. (no idea pulkkinen vs other guys).

He puts the puck in the net. I would think there's a place for a guy who can do that on a team that consistently lost 1-goal games.

Don't know if he's that guy, but its a found wallet. I'm confident if Babs wants him, they have the know-how to make it work out. The knock is on his skating, sounds like another Leivo. But is he better than Leivo? I guess thats the question the team has to ask.

With regards to Wedgewood, I don't think having another goaltending prospect is ever a bad thing. Keep 3 goalies up if need be and send a Dman down. How often do you really need 8 of them? Who knows, he could be to Andy and Enroth what Reimer was to Giggy and Gus a few years back.

Then again, I'm fine with not claiming either of them too. TITS boys, TITS

Because we only have so many roster spots and he isn't worth taking up one of them over what we have. That's why.

11 goals is hardly a net filler.

Prust not getting signed but staying with the team in Toronto is great! I like it.

True. Leivo might be the better overall player. And he's a good Ontario boy

You know who else was lauded for their NHL-calibre shot?

I think 4 years ago he would have been. Not so much these days. We have prospect depth galore. I'd rather give our own picks a shot. That's just my opinion though. Leivo imo has much better numbers and most fans won't even give him a shot. I don't get it. To each their own I guess.

I have been rooting for Leivo since he made the team 2 years ago, and then got hurt shortly into the season and became a casualty of the callups playing well and himself being waiver-exempt.

Always had high hopes for him. Hope he stays healthy this year and gets some steady time with decent linemates. I'd rather see him with Kadri and uncle Leo than Michalek

it just seens like people draw conclusion from looking at goals and points... while at the same time poopting on people for looking at more detailed stats and telling people to watch the game.

Id be surprised if anyone here watched much more than a few mins of him play.

he is 24y old.
could be a good depth addition, could be not..
i think it depends on his mentality/character more than anything (in comparison with the other guys on the team).

if leafs pick up a guy, i'd think it would be wedgewood instead of pulkkinen.

I have nothing against Leivo... He's big, can be gritty and get the puck in the corner... defensive first style guy but can put the puck in the net. That's a good 3-4th liner at the minimum right now. And he's got the talent to go up in the lineup if/when injuries happen. Keeper for me anyway
