Scouting on him is that he has a great shot, but can't skate at the NHL level, is small, and can't do anything else when he's out there.
AHL All-Star for life. No thanks. Would rather keep Leivo. |

pulk was injured in the summer, he came back early as he knew he had work to do and people to impress to secure a job.
babs knows best, if leafs are going to take a shot at him, it's because babcock thinks he's got what it takes.
Pulk RFA after this season. |

yeah my thoughts were if they send a young guy down with an aging roster something doesn't smell right....
i think you are bang on with him being a career AHLer if he stays in NA |

NHL shot, needs top 6, isn't overly fast but if put in a spot to succeed who knows, perhaps he could be a steal.
im good either way - pulk or not |

isnt there some kind of rule that if a player is claimed off waivers he must be put on the NHL roster? |

if leafs scouts / management think that Wedgewood is close to as good as Sparks/Bibeau - would he be worth taking a stab at? |

I think so, but if they are hurt there is likely some sort of exemption for a stint in the A
not 100% |

I don't think so... but would need to go through waivers again.
I'm quite sure a guy picked up on waivers can't be traded until after trade deadline (so only can be traded pre-draft). |

he's an interesting one to consider... his style of play however is that of marner and nylander... but not as good... not necessarily a need for the leafs considering they dont have many contract spots left |

exactly.
I really don't know if hes worth the pickup or not. I'd imagine management discussed 100% as Babcock coached the kid for some time. So whatever they decide, sounds good to me. |

yes, he can't go to the AHL without going back on waiver unless it's for a conditioning stint. |

ah okay... i thought there was some rule that they had to keep him on the nhl roster for a certain number of games... dont know why i thought that |

you'd have to look at whether he is an upgrade over lindberg, leivo, leipsic I think.
Marner is on a complete different level (one of two on elite / franchise potential with Matthews).
Personally, I think eventually Nylander might be the odd man out on the Leafs this year / next year. Becomes more of a question whether you keep JVR or Nylander for your topline.. will be interesting to see. |
