Didn't they just re-sign him in July ?

The dude that suggests Ennis for Fowler, I would agree. Ditch Ennis before it's too late and pick SOMEONE up on D.

Yes. The article I just read expected him to be back mid november from shoulder surgery, so can you place injured players on waivers? Guess he is not injured?

How about Mark McNeill? Do you take a shot at him? (I know nothing past the stats I read at this link)

Sending him to the AHL opens him up to waivers. Maybe so he can slowly rehab?

We are finishing last, and Risto is the worst D-man in the league.

This happens every season, every team try to dump guys in the crazy waiver day with the hope that the surplus of guys on waivers, teams can't get all the claims in they want so there is a better chance they slide through since teams can risk putting on multiple claims on different guys right now.

Yea I am not sure that does much for you, since you can never really use him on the big club (this year at least).

Wait, was there a new rule when you can call people up without going through waivers, but sending them down they go through them? Can't keep all these rules straight.

Correct. But they don't need to clear waivers again unless they've been with the team for 10 games or 30 days.

Anyone we claim, we'll need to have on our roster
So I'd pass on McNeil, unless we want him for 4th line center
I like going after Pulkannen though
Idk what the Wings are thinking ?

So could you just call up / send down a guy every 9 games to avoid all season? (just asking)

So long as it doesn't exceed 30 days as well, I suppose. They are still subject to waivers the first time they get sent there if they're not waiver exempt anymore though.

It's not uncommon for GM's to put out "feelers" to see if a guy would be claimed if he was waived. Either the Red Wings know something else about his injury that nobody else does, or they feel confident nobody will claim him given his current situation.

P. A. Parenteau has been placed on waivers by the New York Islanders.
That's disappointing to say the least. Parenteau had 20 goals and 41 points in 77 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, which was decent even though it wasn't as productive as we saw from him in his glory days. Now that he was back with the Islanders though and reunited with John Tavares, it looked like Parenteau might be a bounce back candidate in 2016-17. Parenteau might still be claimed off waivers, but it's doubtful he'll get as good of an opportunity elsewhere as it previously looked like he would get with the Islanders.

Arizona's Zbynek Michalek is on waivers.
Michalek had two goals and seven points in 70 games last season. It's a bit of a surprise to see him among those waived Monday, but this won't impact the vast majority of fantasy teams.
