Was Stecher and Sbisa paired together last night? I think their style's of play would compliment each other well. Just curious how they looked together.

Stecher Edler.

Stecher is much better than Larssen

Virtanen needs top 9 minutes, he's not going to get it in the NHL, not while WD is HC. Better for him to go to Utica and play top line minutes and in all situations and be the guy for 15-20 games then he can be our first call-up. I don't want Virtanen to be the 4th line banger/13th forward, it's a waste of his talent.

I guess you missed Willie's quotes yesterday. Along the lines of he has no intention sending him down and that the team needs a player with his size and game.

Yes he is, but I would still like him to get games in Utica. Same as Tryamkin.

I was just reading in the Oilers thead. They were laughing when McDavid scored and licking their chops at the he shot clock.

Comments like yeah but it's the Canucks they are not a real team or we get to play them 5 times

They don't realize they are a one line team. After that they have a few individuals but they still are a thin team

Yup if Canucks goal is to dress their second best lineup then they should send Stecher down

I only worry about it ruining his confidence after playing a full season in the NHL. Not including the WHC.
- thundachunk

If it ruins his confidence, then he's going to fail anyways, being sent down to work on his game and get better in areas that because of his youth that he's not good at shouldn't bother a real pro.

I would love a season series wager with you on that one.

I guess you take everything they say at face value, this isn't Torts we're talking about, who uses the media to slam his players.

I think he's played really well and can help the team win. He'll probably hit a wall at some point during the year only having played 40 college games but he certainly looks good.

At the end of the day, the Canucks have options and depth on defence. WD is gone early if the results aren't there. He's still a smallish rookie who hasn't had a real taste of physicality or high end competition.

I think the season series will likely be even with it being something like us going 2-2-1 against them. A lot will depend on injuries and who's going hot and cold for both teams. If McDavid gets injured again, they're screwed.

The Oilers outplayed the Canucks for the majority of the game last night but they once again got out-goaltended. That'll be their downfall because they certainly carried the play the first two periods.

Shots were 36-21 for the Oil, if the Canucks and Benning think they can win the majority of those good on them, but they're playing with fire.

About what? I was just basically just saying Oilers still suck . I think the fans are dreaming if they think they are not a bottom 15 team .

I agree 100%....but I think they should be able to mop the floor with the Canucks 3/5 times.

You were the Oilers biggest cheerleader the past two years now you're their biggest critic lol....what happened? This is probably the best they've been in years and now you think they stink with one of the best young players in the game.

That's funny. Especially since the Canucks are 45-2-5 over the last 10 seasons against the Oilers . Not to mention the amount of points the Sedins have put up.

Your goaltending is completely average, which says it'll be close every time.

With enough PP time they'll both easily hit the 1000 point mark

Let's put it this way, this summer both teams will be very close in the draft order.

Of course I think they have improved.

You and the media are handing McDavid the Hart , and the Oilers the cup already and they haven't played a game.

For what they brought in this year is less than what they shipped out.
