Pens look pathetic this game. Where is the speed they played with in the playoffs, where is the swarming defense and relentless forecheck? Letang looks good thats about it.

Why would they play playoff tempo in preseason? Are you new to sports?

Yeah brand new. Or maybe im just referring to the style of play we employed in the playoffs and nd of last season. But hey whatever makes you feel like a big man.

There's not a huge jump between Warsofsky and Derek Pouliot right now in terms of NHL effectiveness, so we should carry the guy who's a finished product and has no more ceiling to sit in the pressbox instead of the guy who can still develop into something. It was a bad move.

I am sure the people here know better than the coaching staff and The GM of the year. Nodoubt

What is with Notre Dame? I thought yall were going to be good this year. Va Tech looks good though. Besides the self inflicted loss to tenn.

Dude been saying this for years. BK is a god awful human being and a worse coach. We are going nowhere with him. We have talent up and down the roster but the dude is just not good at his job. He's only won two big games in his entire career at ND (Michigan State and Oklahoma during the 2012 fluke season) and is winless in BCS/New Years bowls, yet we lucked into an undefeated season that culminated in a curb stomping by a vastly superior opponent so he's achieved tenure. Player development has been garbage under him. Our highly touted recruits rarely pan out unless they're offensive linemen or Jaylon Smith and he keeps bringing in guys that really push the envelope of Notre Dame standards which has lead to what seems like a new scandal every summer of some player being academically ineligible/dismissed for cheating/committing a crime.

On top of all this, there seems to be a new excuse every time. "We don't have a jumbotron or cool uniforms so players don't want to come here because we're not with the times." "We don't have a good homefield advantage because we can't practice in our stadium because we don't use turf and maintenance cost is too high to use the field on non-game days." "Our schedule is too hard to go winless and make it to a natty cham". The result has been a complete break down in the tradition of our football program. We built in a cheesy jumbotron, replaced our good old fashion grass with astroturf, filled our schedule up with a bunch a cupcakes like Temple and Nevada and similar bullpoop programs, and have the pointless Shamrock series every year so we can wear this year's disgusting looking alternates. All this to appease a really bad coach who has a sub 700 win percentage ever since the last Weiss recruit left and is averaging 7-8 wins a seasons if you exclude the 2012 aberration.

And even with all these concessions, Kelly can't seem to get anything done and we keep underachieving every flipping year. And never once does he take accountability for any of it. Dude is arrogant and always doubles down in press conferences, opting to throw his players under the bus rather than admit that his play calling was sub par. God forbid someone question the mighty Brian Kelly, that flawless, glorious coach! No, its always the players. He did it in 2011 blaming Weis' recruits for not understanding his system, and he's doing it now, saying that a kid who's probably going to be the first QB off the board in April isn't preforming. Last night, excluding sacks, we basically had a 50-50 split between passing and running. IN A (frank)ING HURRICANE! In those weather conditions, it should be an 80-20 split in favor of running. And what does Kelly do in the press conference? No mention about his flawed game plan, all he can say is our center is atrocious at snapping the ball. You mean to tell me the center is having trouble snapping the ball to a QB in the shotgun in the middle of a hurricane? No me digas! You think that maybe DeShon should have lined up under center instead to minimize the risk of a bad snap in bad weather? Nope, flawless play calling.

We've essentially dismantled our once proud program and turned ourselves into just another cookie cutter Power 5 middle of the road program because some jackass who should be serving time for man slaughter thought it would be a good idea....

I've gotten to the point where I am actively rooting against ND on the off chance Jack Swarbrick will finally see the light and can Kelly's ass. Stanford and Miami are given losses. I think losing to VT is highly likely as well as USC because even though they suck they normally beat us. If we can drop one more garbage game and lose to the four aforementioned schools, there might be a chance I'll finally wake up Sunday morning and read the headline "Brian Kelly Fired".

It has been nice to watch world class goaltending again this pre season. Sestito's move one on one with a goalie is priceless. Wilson> sheary. Kune hack > sheary. Sheary should be sent down.

Because its Penguins hockey and this was the final preseason game with a full line up minus Sid. The team should be showing the in game habits that made the team successful last season. I wasnt looking for them to be blocking every shot or playing at 100% effort, but the coordinated pressure on both sides of the puck wasnt there. The game didnt matter sure, but it was a lazy showing.

Unlike the previous two head coaches, I'm confident Sullivan won't tolerate lazy regular season games.

I saw a bunch of guys that really didn't care about a pre-season game. After just winning the cup I don't have any issue with it.

ND would be an underdog to Open Week. In all seriousness, its not a good coached team. BK rants and is very quick to throw players under the bus in a media setting; he is a giant douche on the sidelines. To be honest, if I had a kid that was good enough to play at that level and BK asked to come for an in home visit, I would pass.

The defense is bad. The only way it can stop people is because of the remnants of Hurricanes. Getting to six wins is going to be rough for them to make a bowl game. Absent Army, which might not be a given, the second worst team left on the schedule is Stanford based on their last two weeks.

They should lose to Miami; they should lose to VPI ... USC is playing better now and Navy just beat Houston. If Stanford truly shows up, that will be a loss. The Stanford that has shown up against Washington and WSU won't beat ND.

Before yesterday, VPI's record was a byproduct of their schedule. UNC is a good win. They haven't beaten another good team and no, ECU isn't good this year.

I could see Sheary eventually as the 13th forward. Playing either wing, he could play on any line depending on injuries without to bad of a dropoff and allow them to keep their other lines intact.

He's a decent player, but I think other guys are going to pass him. Even with 3 scoring lines, not sure he beats out any of Kessel, Hagelin, Hornqvist, Wilson, Guentzel, or Sprong next year. Kuhnhackl and Rust fit better as the 4th line guys. Expansion might change things, but it's a great situation for the Pens.

I don't think your being fair to Kelly. Though at this point he's a failed coach and it's time to move on.

I actually think he's done a great job developing talent. There's been an uptick in guys getting drafted and having pro careers. He's also done a good job finding under the radar recruits and turning them in stars. RidRichard procise fuller were not huge recruits but he found ways to turn them into effective players. Kizer was a 2nd tier web recruit and he's projected number one overall at the draft this year. McGlincheybseemsnto be a lock as a top 20 pick.

It's been almost entirely the defensive side of the ball. He hasn't gotten the job done.

As far as scandals go the vast majority of them are only scandals at ND.
