I've seen several comments on others sites, in the wake of MDZ's injury revelation, from fans claiming that any d-man on the Phantoms would be preferable to AMac.

Now, I wish his terrible contract would go away as much as everyone else here, but people can't seriously think Hagg or Sanheim are ready to step in TODAY and outplay AMac. Amac is mediocre on a good day, but I still take him over a number of guys currently in the NHL much less a couple of prospects who've never played against a full NHL roster.

So, the question is:

1. Do you make the best top 4 available and bury your worst guys in the bottom pair with limited minutes (Provorov-Streit, Ghost-Gudas .......... Amac-Schultz/Manning)

or

2. Do you split pair better players with worse players to even out ice time and then hope the better players carry the weaker ones (Ghost-Amac, Gudas-Shultz/Manning, Provorov-Streit (still a good pair))?

Thats also incorrect. Those players are unsigned. Read is under contract with an NHL team.

So Yakupov was traded for next to nothing today. I would have gave up what it took to get Yakupov to the Blues. In fact with Laughton's training camp results, I still would have made that controversial deal I suggest that upset everyone of Yakupov for Laughton. I understand Yakupov has under achieved but we have Weal, Read and Laughton to give up. The problem might not be the talent but where he was playing.

It can be difficult going back to juniors. It's not uncommon for players to struggle and readjust to the game down there. I'm watching Myers and he's had some A-quality chances, but he's been really sloppy. He was fantastic against pros and NHL players. It happens. He definitely is man handling guys in the corners though.

Wade Allison scored his first goal on his crap college team though.

I think what he means is vinny was supposedly immovable last year AND nonetheless ended up being traded, therefore read can get moved too.

Also with Sean Couturier only being "comfortable on the left half wall" because it's easier to make a pass, how are the Flyers going to work both Couturier and Konecny on to the second unit with how well Konecny works in that spot?
