I cannot see Bailey going anywhere. I really do not want PA on that JT line. Teams will be lining up to go against that line. They will be so bad in the d zone. - ses111
I think if this team finally cuts the chord with Bailey, it will speak volumes as to their willingness to win. |

As the lines went.....Barzal was odd man out with Quine. So if you trade Bailey for Hemorrhoids, Barzal can play with Beau and Nelson.
I agree that PA has had chemistry with JT.....but I still never loved him as a "first line" guy. - kindlyrick
I don't love PA in any sense of the word, I just don't have a major problem with him being there.
Not a single Isles fan, other than Spariarti, believes that Bailey should be on this team so we're in lockstep on that one.
I'm not positive, but I wouldn't put a ton of stock into these line combos as gameday isn't until Sunday. I would look at the lines from a skate tomorrow or the morning skate on Sunday as more telling of exactly who is going to be playing Sunday and possibly sticking. |

I agree, i just think this is what they want them to be.
I think Spariarti is related to Bailey somehow... |

It's certainly possible. It seems as if Beauvillier has had the best camp of the four top prospects, so I don't think that it's out of the question to see him make the team over Barzal. He seems to be a much more versatile player, which may be what the team is looking for. |

#Isles D pairs in drills: Leddy-Hamonic, Hickey-Boychuk, de Haan-Seidenberg, Pelech-Pulock. 3 goaltenders rotating.
I swear to god, if (frank)ing Seidenberg ends up playing all the time over Pulock... |

Granted its pre-season, but is Strome as invisible as he was in the few games I saw him? Figured he would have a huge chip on his shoulder after last year and tear it up. |

He came out the first game and looked hungry......then got lost in the shuffle as usual. |

I agree with you.....he literally can play in all situations. |

Forget about the offer......do you really think he's even first line talent? - kindlyrick
He can be when paired with an elite center. Strictly a complimentary player IMO however. |

Interesting. Guess there will be a decision on him soon. Either they think he can work out or trade him before he becomes (Yak) and they won't get much. |

I'd take a shot with Yakupov. Why the (frank) not we put Corey Conacher on the first line why not give Yakupov a shot at a reasonable price? |

The isles already have too many wingers who can compliment an elite center. Yakupov may rejuvinate his career......but it wont be on the isles. |

I dont think he's a dud......but I think he's young and between having a bad season last year (couldnt hack being moved to wing), and then now watching the two kids come into camp and outplay him. I think its prob best to move him... |

I don't think so either. Maybe just a change of scenery. Definitely think there would be a good market for him. |

Yeah and with that we have Quine and Prince along with PAP on the first line (sorry I don't share chiefs sentiment with that idea). Yakupov has the potential to be a legit top line player in that right situation. If he comes cheap I'd do it. |

Apparently not, if Dreger is saying they couldn't dump him for a 3rd round pick then I'm not sure how desirable he is to other GM's. |

I hear what you're saying, i just think the isles already have elite talent in Barzal and Beauvillier. I think the thinking is they'd rather go homegrown then bring in someone new. You know how Snow loves his own picks. |

Dreger: #Oilers lowered asking price on Yakupov considerably leading up to the trade deadline last year. WGR
Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey 48m48 minutes ago
Dreger/Yak: Problem has been, from #Oilers' persp, how do you trade 1st overall if you're not getting real solid return like 2nd, 3rd-rnder.
Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey 47m47 minutes ago
Dreger/Yak: Well, they're not getting that. They couldn't get a 3rd-round draft pick. #Oilers
Chris Nichols @NicholsOnHockey 47m47 minutes ago
Dreger: If Chiarelli is willing to move the player for insignificant asset, whatever that might be, then I think there'll be interest in Yak
