It's back to Garth being afraid to lose guys. He is going to have a very tough time with the expansion draft. How about we trade Strome or Nelson with de Haan or do we have to wait for the trade deadline?
- ses111

We'll wait until one of them gets claimed in the expansion draft that'll fix the problem

The whole 3 goalie thing is a cluster Fack especially on this team where you have young talent that is ready to prove themselves and on top of that your #1 goalie who has publicly stated his dislike for it
Expect the unexpected even though it's expected with the Islanders

- nyisles7

You would think at some point, Berube would request a trade. He's not going to be playing in games, not practicing properly with having two other goalies, and it doesn't really seem like he's going to get a real chance here.

One of the three will request a trade if Snow tries the 3 goalie tandem again. My money is on Halak and who could blame him? That or they'll trade him for not conforming to Snow's lunacy.

I agree. They should sent him down and risk losing him. He is not going to learn anything by never playing and just sitting.

Instead of using the depth we have and make a deal for a winger for JT.

Fantastic. I wish both him and Gudas would die in some kind of painful fashion. I actually mean that I'm not kidding.

If strome has another pointless night I could see him traded early.

Oh the irony he has a bad year he's gone Bailey sucks for almost a decade he's touted by the staff.....yup it's plausible. Honestly I could care less about stroke too package him with a d man and send hime to yotes or whoever

I have no issue trading Strome in a package for wing for JT, but it is odd if the Isles want to give up on him so quickly and Bailey gets years.

I'm not defending keeping Bailey in the lineup, but there was significantly less talent available for Bailey to compete with for the majority of his tenure.

That said, now there is a lot of competition and he needs to go...yesterday.

This is true. Bailey can never say he was not given every chance to succeed. The Isles need to play the best player going forward regardless of contract or them being the GM or coaches pet.

Looking at what may be the opening line up, where is the toughness? Chimera? Ladd? I think they are gonna get pushed around worse this year, and I think it might be a problem. Thoughts?

I really don't think it's a going to be a problem. They beat the "tough" Panthers in the playoffs, and Chimera and Ladd are certainly an upgrade in the top 9 in toughness over Frans and Okposo. They're not nearly as soft this year imo.

I agree. They do not have a bunch of fighter and nor should they. Guys like Ladd, Chimera, Lee, Casey and Cal do not shy away from a physical game. Nelson should be able to play a tougher game though I've not holding my breath on that one.

The issue will be whether they can score enough during a tough playoff series. They cannot have the offense go on vacation like what happened against Tampa regardless of Hedman.

Toughness is nice and all but only when it comes with a skilled player.

Imo, the questions for this year are basically the same as last year. Their defense and goaltending depth are by far the best they've had in a really long time. It'll really come down to Strome, Brock (to a lesser extent), and Lee to help out with the secondary scoring.
