I've been hesitant to buy into my Jets as a playoff team as the team has always been top heavy and Pav is a different goalie in every game (and only 1/4 are good), but I genuinely think the Jets could be as high as 2nd in the Central (right behind Nashville) this year. It all depends on the goaltending and if our defence can stay healthy. There's a few solid vets around to steady the ship (Wheeler, Byfuglien, Little, Enstrom, and now Schiefele), so the only real issue that can come up is if the young guys struggle.
The following players will be regulars for the Jets this season at 23 or younger:
Scheifele, Ehlers, Laine, Connor, Dano, Morrissey, Hellebuyck, Armia, Copp, and Lowry. That's a lot of potential growing pains. Regardless of how they all perform, I'm sure of two things: 1. This year is gonna be fuuuun. And 2. Edmonton, Toronto, and Winnipeg will all be scary in 2018-19.

Doubt this happens. PK will only be 32 at the end of his contract. Shea will be 42 at the end of his.

Also, I have no clue where you are getting the 2 mil base at the end of his contract. Not the case at all.
