Risto played 34 NHL games his 1st year.
- Wetbandit1

Didn't he start in Rochester?
Look at any other Euro who played in the AHL when he was still eligible
Actually...
just look at Nylander's brother

So I agree with you two, but the minus would be he is -88 +/- for his NHL career. So losing games by being on the ice could be the negative. Also, who who's roll does he take on the team? Cause some players (Girgensons, Larsson) play penalty kill and that would shift that a bunch if you plan on moving another player with a special teams roll. Just saying
- Lilroot9

Yakupov into lineup
Deslauriers as 13th forward
No "roles" affected

But even if there were...
he's a #1 overall talent, so it would be worth any juggling we might have to do

And we're still figuring out who we are as a team & who fits with who, etc
So we're gonna be doing some juggling regardless for at least another year

why.

Bc getting a guy with the potential of #1 overall pick for a 3rd or 4th rounder is pretty much a no brainer

On the subject of Nylander, what do we expect from him this year and long term? He went 28-47-75 in 57 games in the OHL last year, his only year of NA hockey. Seems like he's had some decent tournaments as well. In Rochester would 20 goals be good or would that be underwhelming? Would 15 be good in the NHL or too few?
- Zschalberg

His brother had 14 goals in 37 games in his first year in the AHL
So I guess I'd say 25ish goals should be expected

Fair point...
but it's not like a guy can't get his act together in a new situation
and there's been plenty of guys GMs have overestimated or underestimated

Seems like a low risk / high reward move to me

A fourth rounder is really cheap - but I'm not sure we can really say Yak is a "potential number 1 overall."

By this point, I think you really have to call him a "still young 4th year vet who has only averaged 12 g a year, but who may have incredible upside if he can recapture the magic he showed at lower levels of play."

Seems like you're really focused on his problems of the past and not getting excited about his future potential. Really negative way of analyzing things

*****and yes, this is a joke******

Its harder for individuals to change than it is for small groups.

But otherwise *your* right.

He did, but his contract didn't begin until he played his 10th NHL game.

Willie, also played 21 games? I think, certainly more than 9.

AHL games do not count, so as long as he doesn't play 10 games he does not burn a year. Read the description at the top:

https://www.capfriendly.com/slides

Edit: Willie's been in for 2 years, but his contract slid anyway, because he didn't play the requisite number of games year one even though he played in the AHL https://www.capfriendly.c.../players/william-nylander

Capfriendly has him as a slide risk:

I'm glad some are using cap friendly . Seems to answer all the question you might have . I think Homie is the one who posted it back in June/July.
I ran with it

But when you get to large groups it goes back to being really hard to change.

I had heard about it, but figured it was just like generalfanager and the other one that went defunct that I can't remember the name of that are/were good sites, but neither has/had the level of info capfriendly does, and in an easily accessible way.

Capgeek was the original. Fanager is a few steps away from cap friendly. Maybe a block. I like that they have the green thing for waiver exempt. The othe one YOU had to enter the details and hope you had the games /age/contract/ shoe size correct.

So, the game isn't on TV? There's literally nothing in the SubReddit, and FirstRow doesn't even have it listed.

It's like Garth's blogs. There're "8 comments" but it says "there doesn't seem to be anything here"

Agreed .

Faceoff is set for 7 p.m. The game won't be televised, but you can listen live on WGR 550. Dan Dunleavy and Rob Ray have the call.

It's in another rinky dink arena. So maybe they don't have cameras.
