From what I understand, it's not that he doesn't like Winnipeg, just that he wants to play a more prominent role on the right side. That is something he could definitely do in Edmonton. Not sure that Yak could even be considered a starting point in a Trouba trade though, would need so much more just to get the talks going.

I would hope the Jets have no interest in Yakupov. The Oilers have tried to make things work with him and though the organization has struggled these past years, things have changed, yet I don't have reason to hope that a simple change of scenery will suddenly make Yakupov a better hockey player.

It's not really a 3rd line. He gets tons of ice time because he plays against the opponents top line every night and dominates possession against them. Causes lots of matchup problems for the opposition.

The problem last year was a lack of depth. Aho, Teravainen, Stempniak and Stalberg help with that a lot.

It's a huge part of Louis CK's latest set.

I've gone back and forth on Yak. EDM is such a hard team in which to gauge a player's ability. The Oilers are the kings of misusing players.

Yak to this point has been a bust, but had much better production his rookie year which I think was likely due to EDM letting him do his thing.

I think a team that understands how to handle him will get more out of him.
