Wouldn't this make the Dougie Hamilton trade seem even more stupid?

and the Jets would easily match that. it's when you start doing 6.5 million for 7 or 8 years, then you get into the 4 first rounder range

6.5 over 7 years is under. It's 2 firsts range.

LOL. I don't think WPG takes that deal. Your 2014 1st isn't exactly much.

Agreed I was kinda joking off of a previous statement. Honestly I think a fair deal would be Moore, Santini, & our 2017 1st (protected if we miss playoffs and win the lottery).

It gives Winnipeg a LHD (they could take Merrill over Moore if they prefer) who is a younger guy who can play now, one of our strongest defensive prospects (I have been a fan of this kid ever sense he fell to us in the draft), and a 1st which is always valuable. Anything more I think would be an over-payment for Trouba.

For about the 1,426th time, the bruins offered him a contract and he didn't sign, they had no choice but to trade him. What they got in return is the head scratcher.

If Morrissey keep playing the way he has been in the pre-season, there will be even less pressure on Chevy to do a deal. So if you really want Trouba, you better ante up.

But they could've offered him the 6 year 34Million he eventually signed for. Isn't Trouba asking for more? Like 8 years and 56 Million?

Yes and no, cause Trouba is refusing to play. So Winnipeg isn't really getting anything out of Trouba right now (and his value will drop if he continues to refuse once the season starts). If anything, I would see Morrissey strong play actually makes a trade more likely cause Winnipeg won't be missing Trouba as much

Trouba reportedly asked for that money thinking that Jones and Reilly were going to get more. He knows he will get comparable money but does not want to play in Winnipeg. It's unfortunate as he is going to be a franchise defenseman.

I think no one on the league can send a left D equal to Trouba at Winnipeg, and for me the value of the kid is not that high pepole think...

For Boston: 2017_1 + 2017_2+ McQuaid is the max price to pay for Trouba, they can't give a young D like Krug...Then sign Trouba long term deal 8 yers 48 millions...
