Logical fallacy alert!

I'll set the bar low for you. Name 2 and provide the actual proof that they agree with you.

It doesn't mean they are idiots. But it doesn't mean just because they are famous hockey guys that they can't be wrong either.

The thing is, they are like 26-0 or something and so they have no reason or motivation to question their beliefs or ideas.

If Canada had lost, people would be asking things like How is Mark Giordano, a unanimously declared top ten D man not on the team? How is Chris Tanev, widely considered to be the best defensive player in the NHL not on the team? How is kris Letang or PK Subban.........etc etc etc.

I'm still boggled as to why Pietrangelo, boumeester and Muzzin made the team.

Letang, Subban and Giordano, like you said should be on the team.

This would be a minority opinion. In fact, I'd say minority is an understatement. There are probably only a handful of people on the planet that believe this to be true.

James, I'm aware that appeals to authority only matter when others use it, and not you. Quite aware of that double standard, and that if someone had posted what you posted, that is how you'd reply.

Now where is the proof that I challenged you for?

1. McDavid Wins Scoring Tile.

2. Taylor Hall comes in second.

3. Flyers are a good team; make playoffs.

4. Blackhawks Miss Playoffs.

5. Edmonton wins the West.

"1- Crosby wins the scoring title
2- Hall has little support in NJ so he won't finish 2nd
3- If they stay healthy they have a chance
4 - No way Ose
5- No way Ose

I say you go 0/5....and best case scenario is 1/5"

- symba007

Yes, but don't forget Tanner prefaced his predictions by saying that he "doubts any of these will come true".... so he basically covered his rear if they don't, but gave himself the opportunity to pound his chest like a hockey genius if they do.

On the internet, stuff like this works because it generates clicks.... but in real life, it just makes him a t u r d.

Those people are extremely convincing and 100% correct though. And I am pretty sure everyone who's played against him is aware. Plus all Vancouver Canucks fans, and hockey nerds......so basically most people. Or the ones that matter.

Siting a source and appealing to authority are two very big things and this isn't the first time you've failed to understand the difference.

Highly unfair because a) I never brag when I get it right and b) I have made fun of the idea of predictions, so it's hilarious when people take it so seriously.

the worst part is they label trump a racist, when he has done more for raising charities for the african americans, then the clintons did with their foundation, or political pull

and where are all the former contestants from the trump show speaking out on how trump is racist?

I have yet to see one

- homiedclown

the truth is that no one knows if Trump is a racist because no one knows him, not really. they know the caricature that's been running for President, that's it. so we can argue till the cows come home.

what absolutely cannot be debated is that Trump is exploiting the racist vote. he knows what racist and bigoted people want to hear, and he's saying it.

as for charities, he's consistently defined as one the least charitable billionaires in the world. but im sure that will prove not to be the case once he releases his tax returns.

oh wait he's being audited

wow, did you just use a whopping 1 out of 30 fanbases to evaluate a players perceived ability (and of course its the hometown fanbase at that) to support your argument for an outlandish statement?

well bias or not, a Canuck fan is still in a better position to evaluate a Canuck players than, say, a Bruins fan who sees him play 1-2 times per year.

Also, pretty odd for your "pretty sure everyone who's played against him is aware" statement...

Logan Couture is in the same division as him, dont see him blow as much as a fart of credit in Tanevs direction: http://www.theplayerstrib...l-elite-defensemen-top-5/

But I am sure we are considering the avid hockey fans of non canuck fanbases that watch enough hockey across the league

Guarantee nearly every chicago blackhawks fan will tell you Duncan Keith is a top 5 dman in the NHL, but Tanner will go off on how Duncan Keith isnt good anymore and they are all wrong

He will use fans opinions when they support his argument and dismiss them when they dont

You didn't site a source, you made a generalization. This is not siting a source.

"What do you say to the 100% of other analyitics enthusiasts that agree with me? They are all wrong? You know better than all of them? "

I'm still waiting for you to site an actual source, and this is the 3rd time I'm asking you for one. It was a definite logical fallacy to try and support one of your "facts", and it's not the first time you hypocritically did the very thing that you criticize others for.

I'm a canucks fan and I don't think Tanev is the best defensive defenseman. Maybe hes best on the Canucks but not the league.

They're convincing.... to you. They're 100% correct.... in your opinion. Given that there are probably only a handful of people on the planet that agree, I'd say that's a pretty strong indication that they're really not all that convincing.

You're sure everyone that has played against him is aware, eh? well, if you think that's a convincing statement, I can see why you think the others are extremely convincing.

Canucks fans, and hockey nerds. Yeah, right. I'm pretty sure if you ran a poll on this website (which has a lot of hockey nerds), you'd get a near zero rate of people agreeing that he's the best defensive dman in the NHL.

In fact, I'd say you'd get a firm 0%, among those that matter.

I forgot to mention astronauts - for whatever reason, they love him. If astronauts aren't a good enough reason for you, well then I am at a loss.

Chris Tanev is on Vancouver and they are terrible, so I don't expect him to get very much credit yet, but give it a year or two, he'll be a household name.

Also there is no use in posting his stats because that proves nothing, because measuring stuff is ridiculous in comparison to any kind of strawman.

Already aware of that, James. Still haven't answered the question of if the HERO charts you often post, use score adjusted data. Shouldn't be a hard question for someone who is "in" the analytics community.
