Gardiner is a top pairing defenseman. This has been proven in a multitude of ways, and you've seen the evidence, so if you don't agree, keep it to yourself because at this point it just seems like trolling.

Like, let's not rehash the exact same argument for the 500th time. People said the same thing about Muzzin until two months ago when he got named to Team Canada and you don't hear me crowing about how I was right for oh like two years.

Anyways, Trouba is probably better than Gardiner at his peak, but like I said, having two top-pairing guys on separate lines is better than having a super line. Leafs should get Trouba, but not at the cost of Gardiner.

If the Leafs had more than 2 good dman at this point, I wouldn't be too adamant against it, but for now it's not a sensible trade.

It doesn't mean they are idiots. But it doesn't mean just because they are famous hockey guys that they can't be wrong either.

The thing is, they are like 26-0 or something and so they have no reason or motivation to question their beliefs or ideas.

If Canada had lost, people would be asking things like How is Mark Giordano, a unanimously declared top ten D man not on the team? How is Chris Tanev, widely considered to be the best defensive player in the NHL not on the team? How is kris Letang or PK Subban.........etc etc etc.
