Even if they put together a reasonable team, I would still root for NA, like I said, I don't care what teams are in it, I just want to watch good hockey. I don't really root for USA, ever, in anything.

Not sure if anyone else has seen it, but Patrick O'Sullivan made an excellent suggestion. He suggested before this stacked group of Canadians age too much (Within the next 2-3 years) they should have a "Ryder Cup" style hockey series. Canada vs The World in a 7 game Series. I think that would be absolutely amazing to watch, and Canada is currently so stacked, I believe that's the only way to give this group of guys a true challenge.

i thought it was very fun to watch. not the point though. it's not a true best on best world cup if we're making up teams to play in it. just an NHL money grab. but sure it was fun.

Absolutely. My only problem with the tournament was the name. If you're going to call it a World Cup, teams need to qualify, not be invited.

Best on best will always be the olympics for hockey, there's a certain prestige and honor players have when playing in the olympics that I just don't think the players feel with the World Cup, so I'm cool with the money grab if it entertains me, as long as the players still play in the olympics.

Best on best will always be the olympics for hockey, there's a certain prestige and honor players have when playing in the olympics that I just don't think the players feel with the World Cup, so I'm cool with the money grab if it entertains me, as long as the players still play in the olympics.
