Boy, I don't know. All those ex-Soviet countries that play, all the European countries. Hockey doesn't get China, though they want it, or Argentina, but they won't be very good after Ginobli hangs 'em up either.

There's basketball in a lot of countries, but it's not homegrown, it's all ex-NBA players.

There's probably more basketball playing countries that are good enough to be in the Olympics, but I don't think it's "minimal" either.

But is South Korea going to get killed in hockey, or what? Even if the NHL doesn't go. Belarus could win 8-0.

And I'm not sure China would fare any better when the NHL likely goes back.

But, if that person wanted to take the us up on it. We could have USA hockey play Canada hockey in a 3 game series. Then USA basketball play Canada basketball in a 3 games series. We'll compare strength of victory between the countries. Hell we can add baseball and football too if they really want to go.

Yeah I expected this tournament to be as awesome as Olympic hockey. Maybe better. USA layed an egg. Russia wasn't a bridesmaid, heck not even in the wedding party. North America didn't leave the first round. "Europe" was a Cinderella story(whoopty freakin do) and the finals games, yeah Canada won, but the games were like grass grow. Didn't see any of this coming.

Nope. That's just from me. The notion that the world has "caught up" to Canada in hockey is a false narrative. The US, or any country for that matter, still has a long way to go when it comes to knocking Canada off the top of the mountain. When it comes to best on best, Canada still owns this sport and it's really not close.

The only other sport Canada plays is curling. Yeah their domination of hockey is clear. I quit watching once Team North America was eliminated. The rest was a formality. Would you really trade USA's 46 Gold medals to Canada's 4 in the Summer games to be the best at hockey(121-22 total medals)?
