I've been seeing a lot of rumors about Trouba and people keep mentioning the Devils being in the mix. That said, there have been some crazy speculation like Trouba for Zacha & Blackwood and others have been more realistic imo (that said I am biased so I am probably undervaluing things). What about this:
Trouba for Santini, their choice of Merrill or Moore, and a 1st (conditional on making it to the playoffs - if we fail it turns to our 2nd).
This gives Winnipeg a LHD that they can play right now, one of our best defensive prospects, and a high draft pick. I think this would be a lot fairer than the Zacha & Blackwood speculation I read before. - IrischesGlueck
If the plus was a pick like our extra 2nd rounder from Boston, it might be worth doing.

I don't see why we would bite then. Don't get me wrong Trouba is better on paper, however it feels a bit like a lateral move. And loosing a 1st or a 2nd on a lateral move like that seems counter-intuitive at this point in the rebuild.
