I never said you were giving him away, despite that fact that you don't think he's worth a player who won't be in the league for, at minimum, 2 years.
What type of value do you think he has? Value must lie between Sidney Crosby and 1 7th round pick. |

Laughts and Cousins are on 2 way deals. Could one or both be Lehigh Valley bound?
Schenn - Giroux - Simmonds
Konecny - Couturier - Voracek
Raffl - Bellemare - Weise
Read - Gordon - (Fill in the blank)
Options on that last wing are Laughton, Cousins, Lyubimov, VandeVelde, or Weal
4 of the 5 listed above are 2 way contracts, the other well it's our whipping boy.

I know. Having him injured, Streit at the WCH and Ghost needing only 1 (maybe 2) preseason games, it gives the team a great opportunity to keep playing Provorov, Myers and Morin as teams begin solidifying their rosters.
I have a feeling Myers gets sent back pretty soon though. I could see them trying to keep Hagg around a little longer. Giving him an extended look may help motivate him. |

I believe Laughton is waiver eligible. It's not just 2-way or 1-way, it has to do with games played. |

I know that but the one way contract make me shudder and think whipping boy has inside on that last spot. Really I'd keep Cousins and Lyubimov and ship the other 2 to Lehigh Valley hoping to light a fire under either when they get called up at the inevitable injury. |

2 way contracts is for salary...not waiver exemption
Lyubimov and Laughton are the only ones that dont require waivers |

I think he does. He's 22, signed his contract when he was 18, and has played 70 games. Doesn't that make him eligible? If not, how is Cousins eligible? |

Ghost-Gudas
MDZ-Provorov
Morin-Streit
Extra: Schultz
AHL Bound: MacDonald, Manning
I would balance the ES ice time pretty evenly between those groups. Assuming 49 minutes of ES ice time, I would say about 17 for the top two pairs and 15 for the 3rd pair.
After special teams, that would pretty much put all of them between 17-21 minutes.
*This is how I would run things if there was no expansion draft. Since there is, I would start Morin in the AHL, get MacDonald to 40 games then switch him out for Morin. |

Per Cap friendly Laughton exempt, Cousins not.
Year they signed at decided the difference Laughton is 22 and signed at 18 so he has until age 23 or 160 games. Cousins is 23 signed at 19 and only gets until age 23 or 160 games. |

then who is?
no I don't think laughton straight up gets you the rushkie winger. If the stars were so inclined to trade for a player of laughtons ilk I am sure that deal would/could have been done by now. Who has more upside out of the 2 in your opinion?
You tell me what value you think he has? What type of player or pick does he get in return? |

Waiver eligibility is based on pro games played, and how many seasons a player has played since his draft year. I believe both Laughton and Cousins at this point in time can be sent to the AHL without having to clear waivers. |

I already told you what value I think he has. I think he has the value of a player who, yes, has more upside, but will not play in the league for at least 2 years on a team whose window is now. I also offered another player, Derrick Pouliot, a player who came in with great fanfare but who has not lived up to expectations.
Now would you care to tell me what value you think he has? |
