Ive said for like a year and a half now that subban wont be here....and that if he wants to be it wont be as D man.
When you watch him play its apparent he doesnt have the Defensive instincts needed to be NHL D. However he is talented offensively. The guy plays like a forward, specifically a winger.
There is no space for him here now or in the foreseeable future. The GM doesnt have confidence in you on D either.
Barring a trade......jordan Convert or miss your chance at NHL. Youd make a great winger - SMBDragon
It's too bad that coaches can't come up with a way to go with a 3-1-1 system where D like Subban can act like a fantisista (highly skilled playmaking midfielder) that stays just behind the center and acts like a 4th winger in the neutral zone and have someone like Gudbrandson stay behind by the d-zone blueline to prevent odd-man rushes.
with tanev, guddy, stetcher all being rights and tryamkin able to play both sides. maybe your right. it doesnt hurt to give him another year or 2 at d to see what he can do. at that point if it doesnt work out can always toss him to wing, the transition would be quick. - mauryballstein
like I said he lacks the instincts for D. His entire career has been based on his offense. The writing is on the wall.
Get him on wing in utica and see whats happens. Better than throwing away a career trying to push a square peg in a round hole

pretty sure its been done. Theres usually 1 D that is further back than the other. Hawks do this all the time, just not at mid field.
Agreed, going to be an interesting start to the season, who's in who's out :org: - Makita
I'd make comments about the game but really who cares what I think. It may come down to waivers. Unless someone thoroughly out plans a roster player. Utica will be awesome.
Not to get ahead of myself seeing it is pre season game number two , but there was some nice stories last night.
The D generating offense was the big story. Not only Stecher but Hutton. Stecher made Edler better and Guddy made Hutton better.
Rodin and Gaunce had nice games.
Our young goaltending looks decent on both nights.
The call up depth looks very good Carcone Labate .
Some PTOs look decent Skille and Rutu from game one.
I think this will be an exciting team this year. It won't be the disaster most outsiders predict. - VANTEL
I liked the speed of Carcone, Labate, Gaunce, Skille - and Stetcher/Hutton jumping into the rush and helping create offense, things we didn't see much of last year. The league is certainly moving in a speed and skill first - type of game. I like the balance on the D of people like Guddy and Hutton, its a perfect mix - the days of the 6.4' 220lbs Dman are over, that's why people like Keith, Klingberg, Krug, Barrie are having success - we're finally starting to see that on our backend.
