i was looking something up about Wayne Gretzky's goal totals, and an article i read made mention of Mike Bossy's totals. so i think it's fair to say i stumbled onto it, given that i wasn't looking for it nor did i expect it.

is this enough explanation or do you have some kind of template i need to fill out and submit?

Most definitely. Because even looking for Gretzky's goal totals online, will invariably lead you to other players and their totals. One would assume that a prolific scorer such as Bossy, would certainly appear.
