He is a great pick up only if he is utilized properly. If he is misused he becomes a bad pick up real quick. A lot on here thought Zidlicky was a great pick up when we first signed him. That changed...

I also think fans wanted to see Pulock and yet they went with an old Zidlicky. What are you gonna do this season without your boy Strait on the backend?

Don't think there is a single person in here that liked Strait even one iota. Oh, wait. Let me take that back. He was always good for some punch lines.

The guy (seidenberg) to me is a great seventh defenseman and I know that's everyone's line of thinking on here. I'm cool with that but call me just a bit skeptical that he'll be utilized as a 7th defenseman.

True but knowing good ole Snow I give it about a .000000000009 percent chance
- kasperrko

Snow's going to have to do something. He can only protect four defensemen. He's going to lose one of Hickey or de Haan in the expansion draft. Better to move one of them now for an asset that can be protected than to just have them leave for nothing during the expansion draft. There is a premium paid for Defensemen. CDH and a forward (considering they may lose a desirable forward as well) would probably bring back a legit top six winger.

CDH, Nelson & a 1st or 2nd should bring a pretty damn good return, imo.

berube, ahl, if barzal sticks, send quine as well.
- Isles_since_6

I don't know what they're going to do with the goaltending. I think they're real high on Berube's upside and if he gets put on waivers, he's gone. Halak has been great in the WC and has two years left on his deal. My guess: Greisser is the odd-man out if they decide not to carry 3 goaltenders again. He's only got one year left on his deal and will be due a big raise if he plays anywhere near as well as he did last year.

Problem with moving Greiss is you lose the safety net if (when) Halak gets injured. Or I could see them keeping Greiss and moving Halak, moving him while his stock is up. Either way, I don't see the Isles rolling the dice and sending Berube down to Bridgeport.

Hell, at least he gets an assist. He's officially gotten more points for opponents than his own teams.

It's a conundrum. Bright side though. When was the last time we were having a discussion of too many good goalies, D-men, forwards? Times they have changed, my friend.

Absolutely. I'd rather be discussing these problems than how they are going to get to the salary floor, which was the topic of discussion for way too long.

So if they get someone in a trade they need to protect them and then will lose someone else, im ok losing hickey or dehaan and slotting pelech in next year

If they move Greiss after his performance last season they are completely out of their (frank)ing minds.

Let's not pretend that this is a team of all-stars. Every team is going to lose 1 player. LV doesn't get 5 picks off of our roster. Also, if Snow did actually bring in a #1 wing, he'd be too high priced for LV, I think. They have to stock their entire franchise. We might lose a Hickey or CDH. Maybe we lose Kuli, Bailey, or Zeeker. I'm still thinking that CDH gets bundled with someone else and maybe a pick and traded for a good winger. At least I hope.

100% agree. If they're going to do that, then lets just get rid of Halak too and have Berube/Poulin tandem. You know Halak is going to miss games due to injury.

Snows aware....he'd never let an asset leave for no return.

Putting that aside for a minute, Greiss is only making $1.5M...I don't really see any value in moving him. His play last year + the fact that moving him doesn't really equate to any savings means he's probably going to stick. I'm fine with the 3-headed goalie-monster again, it's not like it was a problem (in the standings) last season.

Absolutely although i really hate the idea of getting rid of Brock Nelson. Lets also remember he was the second leading goal scorer (ahead of KO and Frans....who's pts are now gone as well). I know you gotta give to get, and for the right guy absolutely, but to me, Brock is the best of the younger home growns.

I dont think they lose any of these goalies.......I think they are gonna roll with 3 again.
Garth is going to make a move......but its not gonna be with the goalies. Some forward or forwards are gone.
