After Seidenberg signing we have $158,525 left under cap. Where are we getting 7-8 mill from to get this #1 wing everybody is talking about? |

Snow is not trading anyone at the beginning of the season right around the corner.
This is the team we will see on the ice for a few months. Just because he signed another defenseman does not mean a trade will happen |

when have we ever seen the isles this close to the cap, and with a number of players on one way deals likely headed to the ahl? (mayfield, quine, berube)
the team is spending, and snow knows the expectations this year. I think there's a good chance he pulls the trigger on something
if he doesn't and barzal is our addition to the top 6 he'd better be ready. |

I dont know I dont see that happening. I think he goes with what he has sees how the team does and then like in a month or two makes the trade. HE will have to do something with the goalies. I dont want them carrying three goalies and neither does Greiss, Halak or Berube. It will be interesting though. He has the chips to make a
splash if he wants to |

It's not going to happen (now), but I'll play anyway:
A) We'd be trading roster players that take up room on the cap
B) Grabo LTIR |

So you would be giving up depth to get that #1 winger. Is it worth it? |

Its so funny how this team has turned the corner with regards to being a respected team. UFA's are coming here, the WFAN is gonna broadcast games.....whats next, a cup appearence??? |

Unfortunately with Halaks injury history, you need three goalies. Halak is still the best goalie of the three, and come playoff time he's gonna steal some games. |

Well I don't think it's happening, so it's kind of a moot point.
But: What's the point of having space to add contracts at the deadline if you can acquire the player you need today?
There's a very real chance de Haan and Nelson are gone after this season. You'd undoubtedly be sacrificing some depth, but I don't think it would be the worst thing.
Hypothetically: Hickey would bump up to the 2nd pairing and Seidenberg would replace him. Assuming Barzal made the team, he and Strome would split the 2nd/3rd line duties.
Then you would have something like:
Ladd-JT-(new guy)
Lee-Barzal-PAP
Kulemin-Strome-Bailey
Chimmer-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
Quine/Prince
Leddy-Hammer
Hickey-Boychuk
Seidenberg-Pulock

depends on the trade. impossible to say yes or no without knowing what the trade involves. |

That's an interesting point KR. When you consider that just a few short years ago, the cap was not an issue except for other teams. Now it's an everyday topic. Especially the convos about trades and ufa's. Not to mention new arena, radio, etc. Not only has this organization turned a corner, it's moved to a better neighborhood (no pun intended). |

The isles have been adding pieces for years......they are pretty deep....at every position. |
