im Cizikas biggest fan, you don't have to tell me, im excited. - Spartiarti
I spent days debating that in here........he's not on a "4th line" on any other team. Some said his contract was an overpayment.....which i couldnt understand. |

I dont get the Bailey comparison? You have a kid playing 4th line minutes, and the PK.......i think his pts are commensurate with his pay. |

you and me both. Its b/c people simply go by fact he was 4th line center. If you watch him play one should realize he is a very talented player.
Im very glad Snow saw it same way. Cizikas can more to offer. |

Bailey wasnt worth the $$ grant it, CC does everything else defensively but (to me) not worth the contract, sorry $3m+ for a 4th liner, the system & players isles have now & future do not suggest that Cizikas will be a 3rd C when team has multiple players who play C position. Baring injury I just dont see Casey as a 3C |

having depth and having a competitive camp is sign that you have good team. It doesn't mean someone has to be moved.
The days of taking 1st round picks like Bailey and putting them on the team are gone.
They fact that we don't know what the line will look like to star the year beyond Tavares and Ladd on first line tells you someone can play their way into a better situation. |

Question.......if CC gets bumped up to a different line, is he technically still a 4th liner?
Also, if he saw PP time, and got 10 more pts......is he now worth it? |

I still think Nelson gets moved or should be moved and Bullivear is not even on the radar yet. |

Until a roster change is made, those are your probable C's without Bulliveaur |

That may be. I like Zeeker, think he plays a good 2-way game. But don't you think if he was better than Frans, Nelson, Strome, & Grabo he would have been on the 3rd or 2nd line? Let's not pretend that Capuano put that 4th line together because he's a genius. We all know better than that. He couldn't beat those guys out, got put on the 4th because he does have talent. All of a sudden, boom, there's chemistry, and the best 4th line in hockey is born. Before you start chucking bombs my way, let me just say this. I hope Casey proves me wrong. I hope he gets the 3rd line minutes and takes advantage of it. Maybe, just maybe he gets some legit PP minutes. Not the mop-up stuff Cappy put him out there for last season because there was an O-zone draw with a few seconds left. There you go. Bombs away. |

You're gonna see Barzal make the team and play "4th line" center. Which, doesnt make him a 4th liner.....its just where they will ease him in. |

For one thing the isles have way too many centers, which is why you saw Strome and Nelson moved to wing. Casey is part of the top PK unit because hes a worker and good defensively.....relentless if you will. With that said, he was 7 pts behind Anders Lee who saw top line and PP minutes. Im not comparing the two, im saying that CC is capable of being more offensive, but its because hes so good defensively that he got labeled a "4th liner". Its also because he plays top PK minutes that he wouldnt be a 2nd line PP guy to stand in front of the net.
I said this before but you will see CC playing 3rd line center, and Barzal will make the team and play "4th line" center. |

No bombs at all. I just think Casey makes a fine 3C checking center who adds some offense as well. I love the idea of Casey Cal and Chimera as the shutdown line. I think Casey as top 6 is a big stretch. |
