Disagree Jones is right with Risto maybe a tad behind
- yen6d1

Jones is like a deer in headlights in his own end IMO.

Kane with girgs makes sense to some degree. Pitt put Kessel on the third line because he likes the puck on his stick. Eichel has a better shot than Kane who takes about 10 shots a game. Ennis-oreilly-okposo, moulson-Eichel-reinhart, kane-girgs-gionta
- jcragcrumple

I'm ok with that to start
But Moulson doesn't get much leeway there
He's gotta produce if he wants to stay

That leaves
Foligno-Larsson- "to be determined"

Candidates:
Deslauriers, Carrier, Baptiste, Bailey, C.O'Reilly, Grant

If Grant is on the team come opening night, then that roster and their prospects are much worse than what people are admitting.
- rmiethaner

I don't necessarily think so
It just means they'd rather have Baptiste, Carrier, Bailey, etc getting top minutes in Rochester as opposed to 10min icetime here
You've gotta keep in mind what's best for the youngsters development

if they carry 7 d men

that would a lineup for the kids to all stay in the minors

Teppo earned $4.5M the year before he came to us, in 2005-06 dollars.

If Risto is already better than him, maybe we should consider paying the man.

the fact that we are talking about grant getting a spot on the 4th line clearly proves we need to bring lewgand back to make the team look meaner

He's better than Seth Jones by a country mile and he just got 5.4.
- dadeadhead

Really?
Are u that down on Jones, or that high on Risto?
I think they're pretty comparable

Risto had a rough 2nd half last year
He's definitely not in the 7.5mil Ekblad range
Based on other contracts that have been signed,
5.5-6mil seems right to me, for 5-6yrs

I think if your tossing him 6 per, you go for the 8 years

I think that group is what we'll see opening night
Not sure about those line combos,
But something like that
It makes the most sense...
Unless Bailey or Baptiste, etc perform good enough that they earn a shot with Jack & Sam, or just in the top9 in general

Something to note, it would appear that bridge deals are a dying breed.

At least for young defensemen
McCabe's deal was a freaking steal,
But he's not on the level of these other guys yet
