Both drafted 7th overall, both are January birthdays, but Suter was able to play in the AHL as a 19 year old after one year at the University of Wisconsin, with a break for the WJC 20. There was no NHL that season so I don't know if he would have played for the Predators as a teenager, but it's not like he tore up the AHL so I would guess not.

I'm thinking maybe some of Couturier, Voracek, Gostisbehere and Neuvirth might sneak into the lineup tonight
- dragonoffrost

Tonight it's basically the Phantoms plus a few Flyers. I don't know if it's a rule or just common sense, but the World Cup guys won't play till October.

Bellemare and Streit may only play one preseason game.

What rock have I been living under? I vaguely remember hearing the name but never paid attention to them. I heard Empire for the first time ever the other day. Wow!

Never did it for me, but I know a lot of people are into them.

Oh, and this is for all of you "classic rock" guys but especially BiggE:

I get that. They seem to be in the same genre as Dream Theater, who I like very much but I do get tired of them after an album.

So...fantastic individual musicians who can't write an enjoyable-sounding song because they're too worried about being uber-technical???

Last night, they were saying their first chance would be Saturday.
- jmatchett383

That's insane! A week off so much for being able to keep in game shape after the tourney.

I know three songs but not much more by them.

Silent Lucidity
Eyes of a Stranger
Jet City Woman

That's how I'd rank those songs.

Listening to the contrasting "Super Bowl champions" to "We're gonna lose every game for the rest of the year" the day after the Eagles win or lose is always interesting for 10-15 minutes at a time.

I know I'm in the minority, but as "edgy" as he was, I always liked that Josh Innes would just call people on their poop.

- jmatchett383

I liked Josh because he talked about everything including non sports topics. Its why I always like Glen. there is only so many hrs of Eagles talk I want to hear. I'm pissed Eskin fired him for basically doing what he was hired to do (granted bloom was the one who hired him, not Eskin)

Jet City Woman

That's the song that made me check into them. Flipping around the Sirius channels I stopped on Classic Vinyl or one of those similar channels and heard it.

For some reason, they sound similar to me. I know I don't appreciate music the same way as some people on here, but to me, they're similar.

They had that Sign of the Times hit in the 1990s.

Sirius is why I know those three songs. They seem to be in heavy rotation on stations I frequent.

Most of Rush is definitely prog-rock which Styx most definitely is not. But Rush does have some shorter, radio-friendly tunes where I guess you can find similarities.

Sometimes I hear Rush and say how the hell is that only 3 guys even live which I've seen them about 10 times.

Oh, he was a total bumhole who thought he was better than everyone. At the same time, he was realistic with his sports take, and always let people call in and have at him if they wanted to. He'd let them say their piece, and then thank them for the call and move on. He did have a tendency to flip out over small stuff, though.
- jmatchett383

i got a kick out of his melt downs.

I thought the show was at its best when Eskin was on with Josh and Tank and actually it was good with Josh and Bruno. the minute Andy Bloom was fired I knew Josh was done

Not Rush, Dream Theater.

I get that each musician, individually, is incredibly talented at playing their instrument. But golly gee, they're so concerned with showing how technical they can be and using weird timings that the music is just not enjoyable from a pure listening perspective.
