The Flyers ppl thought Morin played well on Monday. Kept things simple, which is what they want. There weren't a lot of opportunities to do more, anyway. - bmeltzer
I think there is a certain segment of the fan base who think that if Morin isn't tossing guys over the glass and punching people lights out all while laying two handers on the back of opposing players in front of our net while simultaneously playing goalie and scoring 20 goals while handling the media like Chris Pronger....he is going to be a bust.

Completely agree. Shame about Provorov...focused a lot on watching him throughout the game and he definitely doesn't have that "wow" factor that Ghost has. I realized he's only played 2 preseason games, but knowing that Hexy is leaning towards sending him back to junior, he's going to have to do more. Thought Sanheim played very well, especially in the 2nd portion of the game. Should be a great addition to the Phantoms - aantny88
It's also early, let's see how the next few games go. |

Provorov will be here until the very last cuts if he goes back to Brandon. He will be given every chance to make this team. He will probably play as many games as is possible. Tonight he will sit though as playing 50 minutes the previous two days is going to have taken a toll. |

This is true. Unattainable expectations help keep the "isn't good enough" vibe going for the fan base. Mike Schmidt is perfect example of a Philadelphia athlete who was exceptional (to put it mildly) and was not properly appreciated until his playing days were over. |

Schmidt had one of my fave all time lines in regards to how sports are covered in Philly: "Only in Philly can you experience the joy of victory, and the agony of reading about it the next day"

Hype train gonna be full after this preseason, as more people get around to realizing he's in the same league as Sanheim. Maybe even Provorov. - Tomahawk

I'm giddy at the thought of rolling out future pairings with the likes of, Provorov, Gostisbehere, Myers, Morin, Sanheim, Hagg.... wow. - flyguy12
If he signs in March after his third NCAA season and joins the Phantoms, Mark Friedman is gonna be the next D prospect that surprises people with how good he is. |

Although I would like to see some of that, it's not what I expect. In fact, in the 14/15 preseason, I thought he was on the cusp of making the team without doing any of that. I just heard from non-reputable sources that he didn't seem to have the foot speed he needed. |

Add to that the lunatics that make up Sports Radio in Philly and you have figured out why the fan base is the way it is. |

So true. Wentz and the Eagles could start the season 10-0, lose game 11 and you'll soon be hearing: "that bum Wentz is overrated Ange, and Pederson is a moron!"
Those who call WIP, probably should not be allowed to have phones....or go out without being supervised by mental health professionals.

For those of you who are expecting to see dynamic play like you get from Ghost (re rovy) stop now. You are not gonna see it. However, what you might see is the same sort of stuff you get from Drew Doughty. He isnt out there spinning circles, dipsy-doodling, and slammin home rockets from the point, but he absolutely makes the right play 95% of the time. He is dominant in all three zones, and makes his team that much better. Provy might have a rush from time to time where you go "Whoa, this kid is special", but its the mundane dirty stuff that makes him so special. Simple plays like moving the puck up ice calm and collectively when another guy would be forced into a turnover. Or like last night, chipping the puck high off the glass and spinning out of a big hit attempt and getting up out of the zone before the checker. He is machine like, in the best way possible. |

Thank you for stating this! It feels that Provorov is set up for unfair expectations with some fans. Also, the same fans need to remember that Ghost had an abismal camp and pre-season before call up that springboarded him to where he is now. |

He did??? I don't think he had anything less than an impressive camp. Hextall was actually very high on him, he just wanted Ghost to 1) work on his play without the puck and 2) get some more pro time to his game since he missed most of his rookie AHL season. |

Abysmal may have been a too strong choice of the word, but there was a reason for not making team right out of the gate. |
