Go back and re-read it. Here is what was said.

"And I won't be thrilled if Hexy plays the "overcooking" card when impact players are ready but aren't cracking this poop roster because they don't have 5 years of AHL experience. "

I clearly meant the mediocre players they would be replacing. My god, you are a rabble-rouser. Go kick a hornet's nest, will ya.

We all know who the poopty old (frank)ers of reference are.

Hextall is on record stating that he views Konecny as a RW. So which of the Flyers top 6 wingers, are poopty old (frank)ers, specifically?

Konecny is a scoring line player. I don't think any of Simmonds, Schenn, Voracek, Raffl, Read, or the newly signed Wiese are mediocre players. I called the statement what it was.

Part of Konecny making this team, is will he get and see the ice time, in the role for the kind of player that he is? That's a big question and a consideration.

He knew what I meant. He's just practicing his shtick to get ready for the season. It's pre-season for him too!

He's not getting any bigger realistically. 185 lbs at 5'9" is a good weight. I don't buy they can use the "he's not physically ready" reason. All-around game and maturity? Maybe.
- Mononoke

He's probably top 6 right now. No need to send him back and have him Bo Jackson the CHL.

I just get the nagging feeling that if Hextall was GM of the Eagles, he'd have played Chase Daniel all 16 games this year rather than try Wentz.

Wentz would look great in preaseason 2017, but it's preaseason, so it really doesn't mean much.

I think Provorov, Morin, and Konecny could all make this team better right now while being good for their long-term development. They just seem ready. They're in control and not overwhelmed. But obviously they need to do well too in the important preseason games with the starters starting this weekend. Even Myers was a revelation in his 2 games, but I understand that's maybe a bridge too far. Though hell, his development could be accelerated to where next year he's a Flyer. If they look ready, there's no reason to get cold feet for the sakes of AMac, Schultz, and the like. Getting these kids NHL experience and starting the filtering in is best for short and long term.

Do you think he could be an effective C? His development path is very reminiscent of one Claude Giroux thus far. Late 1st round draft pick, drafted as a winger, highly skilled but Travis is a bit faster than G was at that stage

I'm cool with sending Myers back. He looks great, but it's not like he dominated the CHL like Provorov and Konecny did. There really is nothing left for those guys in Juniors. They're both ready for tougher competition and can help the team immediately. Konecny is going to have to learn to play against bigger guys eventually. His speed would be a welcomed addition.

He never played C in the OHL. I can't speak to Giroux's transition, but I don't think Konecny screams center to me. He's not poor defensively, and with his skating will certainly only improve, but it's not a big strength either. Even if they wanted to convert him, it wouldn't be 2 weeks before the season. I like him at wing though.

Putting him with Coots at LW, bumping down Raffl to 3LW, and then Laughton at either 4LW, AHL, 3RW (I don't think they'd bump down Weise tbh) makes some sense. Read would presumably not be in the lineup.

Myers will be sent back, continue to put on weight and rehab from his surgery, maybe anchor Canada at the WJC, and just continue to develop. Maybe 2017-2018 he skips the AHL. It makes sense. It's just exciting to see how rapid his development is. I knew he looked like this in the Q, but in training camp (post surgery yet!) you can get flustered or overwhelmed. He hasn't been.

Provy and Konecny should be on this team. It's not rushing guys who look ready physically and on the ice and were dominant at the lower level. Age isn't everything. I will say though, Morin has been very impressive too. His d game is advanced, both in d zone and NZ defending blue line. He's very aggressive to prevent entries. And when he gets the puck, he's very calm transitioning. He's smart. He might get a few more months in the AHL, but if he keeps this up, it's probable it's not needed.

Maybe if Gudas is out for a while then Morin will get a call up to replace him as defensive defenseman

We need someone to hit the expansion draft criteria. Manning needs 14 games. AMac needs 40. Schultz could right now, but he'd need a 1 year contract. 1 of them has to do so. And like I said, I worry about Hexy not wanting to send them down. Ideally one gets traded, one gets sent down, one sits in the press box the majority of the year.

Morin doesn't play on the right though. He also claims he's almost 100% and will for sure be ready to start the season.

Covered bridges are underrated and very scenic IMHO. Except the covered bridge in this park near me that is just land mines of horse crap.
