The same was said about Simmonds and he was awful over there. Jake was an improvement on the left but clearly not a long term solution over there.

I have said I think he could be in the NHL, and I want him there. His pure skill is electrifying. I don't view him as a great defensive player, but he's no liability either. He's at his physical peak or close to it weighing as much as Giroux and Ghost, though he's shorter. Robby Fabbri, who is much like Konecny, played all of last year at age 19 on the Blues, insulated by vets. We have such a good forward group to insulate him and help him develop as a pro. He's not being thrown to the wolves.

I think there's at least 3 rookies who should make the team tbh. And I won't be thrilled if Hexy plays the "overcooking" card when impact players are ready but aren't cracking this poop roster because they don't have 5 years of AHL experience. Some players, like Sanheim and NAK, need seasoning. Some don't. Grrr. Now trade some of those poopty old (frank)ers to make room.

I know I was joking. I think Provorov is a slam dunk. He's a flyer this year. He is better than all of Manning, Schultz, AMac right now. I see no reason why he can't hold up over an 82 game NHL schedule.

Konecny I have a feeling no matter how good he is this preseason is going back to junior. I can wait on him. Provorov is ready.

i was just kidding. i'm not driving the travis bus for him to make the team, but if really plays well enough to get a look at the start, then i hope hextall gives him that chance. let the chips fall.

i think hextall's plan is to filter in the youth bit by bit. who/when? we shall see.
