It wouldn't have mattered ...torts ...he would have benched Johnny for not shot blocking, Mathews would have had to watch 4-5 games before he was trusted, and eichel would have been stapled to the bench

I'm thinking sending Virtanen down to play with Gaunce on the top line in Utica would be a good idea. It sounds like Gaunce did a Horvat on his skating this summer and some time together in Utica would give both guys some time to develop chemistry.

Sbisa is what he is IMO. He made the Flyer's out of camp at 18 with high expectations but he just doesn't have it between the ears to make great decisions with the puck.
