I'm probably off in left field with this one, but would Connor Carrick, Kasperi Kapannen and two second rounders work (since I think we have three)?
- mykokes

I don't want to be that guy mykokes old pal.

But aside from the two second rounders, this isn't a very interesting package... Kapanen is a long shot prospect at this point and... Connor Carrick? Really? A guy that was a throw in for the Leafs to get a 2nd rounder from Washington?

Seems to me like Winnipeg can find a better offer elsewhere. But maybe that's just me.

nope... got keep Kapanen for the JvR + deal with Anaheim.
- BorjeFan4Ever

Key pieces for a 3-way:

ANA: JVR
WPG: Fowler
TOR: Trouba

Add in picks/prospects to make it work.

What does PK time have to do with anything? Polak gets plenty of PK time...and it's not because he's Bobby Orr. Myers Corsi doesnt look to bad ( better than Trouba's I think ) and people seem to think he's a bad D and he's playing the other teams top lines.
- Garnie

Polak got plenty of PK time because there were no other options last year. When Phaneuf was here, he was playing the most PK minutes.

Trouba gets more pk time than the jets go to d-man Buff. That's the point.

Also, Trouba played 2/3's of the PP minutes Myers did, and yet Trouba had more PP points.

And again, Myers isn't playing the other teams top lines more than Trouba. I'm pretty sure QoC for the two of them is pretty equal.

I do agree. I was just disagreeing with calling someone a busy at 20 years old
- Santo_44

Lots of 20 year olds are busy. That's the reason they keep giving me for not wanting to go on dates with me.

That's my point...there's only so much room on the PP...so he gets more PK time. I think Myers is getting the better QOC...probably not by much...but his Corsi is also better. But maybe they should be giving Trouba more PP time...i'm talking 5v5 again.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all in your assessment, but Kapanen is only a long shot prospect because of what the Leafs have in Nylander and Marner. 19 year olds who put up 25 points in 44 AHL games, plus score the game winning goal at the world juniors tend to be held in higher esteem in other organizations. He's not an elite prospect, but he stacks up well against many teams top 3 prospects, lot of parallels between he and many other first rounders from that 2014 draft. As for Carrick......he could be the next Percy for all I know. I didn't watch the Leafs much down the stretch, I just know I liked that we got him from Washington.

NO...I look up stats myself...I don't read Yost....go to stats.hockeyanalysis and check out the top 20 opponents each faced...as I said..it's probably close...but I see your point for putting Trouba on the PP if he's outplaying Myers on the PP. I'm looking more at 5v5 stats which show Myers having tougher mins.

Oh yeah! Well if Babcock continues to play the poop out that lanky (frank), I don't see why we won't be absorbing most of the whippings again!

Obviously, you haven't seen what playing with Mark Stuart is like.

Nylander and Matthews are going to be together. Babs already stated as such.

I'd put Marner with Bozak. Bozie has always had a high sh%, and a guy like Marner would really provide a quality set-up guy.

- lumlums

I know Lums.

But I'm hoping Babcock sees what I see....my eye is way more fine tuned to the players.

Explain to me where it says tougher minutes? I don't know how to read this stuff. lol. Isn't a higher iCorsi mean you have better corsi numbers?
