You're right, he's not worth either player.

He's worth much more.

After last night....I know small sample....but I think it's going to be tough to send Marner and Brown back. They both looked ready and really played well.

I like the energy of the young guys and would rather Rychel over a guy like Prust too.

Still think we should go with this mix of players in this sort of a line up

JVR, Kadri, Komarov
Nylander, Bozak, Brown
Rychel, Matthews, Marner
Martin, Laich, Michalek

I think the bolded line could work really well.

Ya, I keep forgetting about Leivo....and I'm a fan.

I think that happens with management too...when you let a prospect bake too long, you start to look at other/newer players.


Leivo, Laich, Martin could work as a scoring, hard checking 4th line....but we still have a few too many vets with a year left.

makes no sense why we wouldn't move Gardiner + for Trouba.

Fill in the 1st RD pairing, and find a replacement for Gardiner later on. Gardiner is on a fairly cap friendly contract, fits better with the Jets' appetite, and we have Reilly's contract as a comparison for what could be offered to Trouba.

1st pairing D-men are harder to come by then a guy like Gardiner

I'm not sure who Vancouver can trade for him but he would be a good fit indeed.

I doubt they'd want to trade Juolevi just after drafting him so early but crazier things have happened.

I must have watched a different game. Gardiner was pretty good. Some filthy cross-ice feeds to spring Brown and/or set up Brown.

Kadri had a couple slick plays but other than that, he wasn't super noticeable.

Didn't think either of them were bad.

Also, it's 1 game of preseason with maybe 5% of the opening night roster in the lineup and horrific goaltending. Did you expect us to crush them?
